Ima I Može Craft Beer fest, Mostar. So, Livno’s brewpub is now doing ales, cool! Golden body. Subdued malty aroma, vague banana. Bready, slightly sweetish taste, no real hop flavor, but it seems to derive some tang from them - doesn’t give much bitterness. A bit strangely dryish in the aftertaste. Pleasant light beer, a disappointment if you’re looking for a Pale Ale, but face it - they are in an area where lager’s not only the norm but the only thing going on, and word of mouth used to pretty bad due to the "local so must be worse" idiocy, so nothing too wild was to be expected. Correctly made beer, better than anything else golden in the area, just not a thrill for the beer geeks (though it might well be when every other alternative is a macro pale lager).

330 ml bottle. Friend gave me this beer from Livno. Definitely one of best bosnian beers. It has brown red color with small head. Little sweetish taste. Preety good beer.

Bottle 0.33. Probably best bosnian beer that I’ve tried. It has golden orange color with small white head. it has herbal and malty taste with very refreshing effect. Very solid beer.

Bottled 330ml. -Courtesy of Marko/heavy (thanks!). Two weeks out of BBE. Brownish coloured, medium to big sized pale brown head, hint of fruits in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel and dried fruits with slightly watery and light acidic finish. Lack of body is evident but all in all laudable attempt.

0.33 l bottle from a random bar in Livno. BB just a couple days ago, but likely stored in cool and dark all the time. Seems to be much less common than their dark beer. It poured nice hazy orange body with medium sized head. Weak biscuit aroma, some herbal and paper hops, peach and salt. Bitter flavor, herbal and only a bit papery hop, biscuit, slightly acidic from lack of pasteurization. Medium to thinner body with long bitter finish. Summer thirst quencher, not bad, I liked this more than their dark, although, same story, missed some malt to make it tastier. And I have to dispraise locals for negative attitude toward their beers, as well as brewers for making it 50-70% pricier than ordinary macro lagers, which won’t help the first problem.

0.33 l bottle at Acoustic pub, Livno. For the record, it was the freshest possible, BB date Nov, 5th. It poured about clear, reddish brown body with small ocher head. Nice sweet dark fruit jam aroma, some caramel and licorice. Flavor unfortunately wasn’t so tasty, still had jam, some chalky tartness, but all too light, thin in body. Finish was long, due to wine acidity, also a bit woody. Atypical and praiseworthy micro attempt, probably most tannins I’ve ever seen in a beer, that unfortunately misses lot of body. Decent though.

Poured a remarkably nice misty dark golden body with a small but persistent tick white head. Appley nose - not a good thing. Fresh though, slightly herbal and malty. Appley malty taste, actually refreshing, ending in a slightly too simplistic bitterness... quite papery. Light, bitter finish. Has some faulty, but none that can’t be attributed to the fact that it’s past its BB date... Ok and the slightly simplistic hop sort (though generously used). This is probably a pretty good beer fresh. And the locals kept on trying to convince us that it was really bad BECAUSE it was local (and apologizing). "Support your local brewery" doesn’t seem to work there. And it’s definitely better than the macro crap they ARE drinking.

Bottle at Acoustic, Livno. Misty daaaark ruby body, brownish light small-medium head. Nice, surprising aroma. Strawberry jam nose, a bit dusty , quite lovely really. Quite interesting malty taste, strawberry jam and nougat, ending lightly bitter, slightly simple and crude, and that ends up for quite awhile in the finish. It’s slightly tart, acidic too, should try it fresher. Ok enough, glad to see something like this, a dark wheat beer, from this country.
