On tap at the brewpub. A black one, topped by a dark brown head of moderate size. Some curtains. The aroma has licorice, coffee, lots of caramel, with roasted malts and a Bourbon-ish alcohol scent. It's full-bodied, warming, smooth and sweet, with a dash of bitterness to harness the sweetness. Caramel, coffee, licorice and roasted malts, with a light burnt note and some booze. Lasting finish with a pleasant warmth. A bit on the boozy side perhaps, but not bad for a 12% ABV beer. Delicious anyway. 221220

On tap at the brewpub. A bit uncertain about the variety of Hopcoaster as the barman didn't know. Anyway, it's an unclear yellowish orange colored beer with a small white head leaving some lacing. The aroma has tropical fruit, grapefruit, orange zest and pine cones, with a good dash of pale malts in the back. A bit more malty than preferred for the style though. It's medium to full-bodied and nicely carbonated, quite low on bitterness. Rather gentle flavor, piney and tropical, with a backdrop of bready pale malts. Lasting hop driven finish. Sure decent, easy drinkable and refreshing. 221220

On tap at the brewpub. It pours dark brown to black, looking clear, with just a rim of bubbles for a head. No lacing. The aroma is sweetish and chocolatey, with dark caramel, dark dried fruit and some coffee. It's more or less full-bodied, silky smooth and with a low level of carbonation. Sweet, with more focus on coffee than the aroma has. Chocolate, caramel and dried fruit. Lasting sweet finish with coffee, chocolate and caramel. A nice one, but a small glass would be sufficient for most people I guess. 221220

On tap at Søgaards. A mostly clear, it seems, dark brown beer with a small off-white head. The aroma has some roasted malts, but dark dried fruit dominates. Some caramel and burnt malts. It's full to medium bodied, softly carbonated and a mostly on the dry side. Quite a lot of residual sweetness though. Caramel and roasted malts in the flavor, but mostly it's raisin and dried figs. A bit more burnt in the finish. 221220

Hand bottle 25,5 cl. Pours golden with a slight haze and a small, white head. Peach/lychee aroma, quite pleasant. Medium body, lightly sweet fruitiness before a massive bitterness sets in. A NEIPA it is not, but it sure carries quite a hop punch. 020922
