Thanks to Ron, on tap at Vintage Estates. Smells fruity almost like specialty liquor or whiskey. Cloudy brown appearance and has a creamy thin lightish blanket for a head. The taste is wet woodlike and strong. However, you would not think of it as high alky. This is much more mild and well behaved for 10 percent. Lower carbonation. Has a winish initial impression that leads to rotten fruity. Smooth without allot of offensiveness. Medium to thin lacing. If this wasn’t so intoxicating, I would almost say it was watered down. Very deceiving, cannot taste the alky after a few sips, must numb the taste buds. Cannot detect the lambic within. Somewhat creamy at times. Interesting, dizzying and complex. More manners than Weyer’s.

Sometimes I find a beer that isn’t as complex as other examples of the style, and I say "Oh, I wish this beer was more complex." This witbier provides an interesting counterexample. It is certainly not as complex as some famous examples, but nevertheless I found it to be a really nice straightforward refreshing beer. Aroma hints at spicy phenols and wheaty malts, perhaps minty. Then the flavor is mildly phenolic, light citrus and grainy wheat, yet otherwise clean with a refreshing smi-dry finish. Perfectly hopped. Clopudy white-yellow color, big foaming over-flowing head. Good stuff.

Aroma of yeast and citrus, perhaps some grass. A little lemon? Slightly translucent light gold color with a white real ale head that is ferocious (and laces). Starts with lemony citrus, yeast, banana?, and cardamom? Decent frothy mouthfeel. The finish is a bit herbal with spice and light hop bitter. Seems very well balanced. Quite tasty.

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a slightly hazy, reddish amber with a creamy, off-white head. Fairly complex aroma of yeast, overripe fruit and diacetyl. Full-bodied with fruity notes, sherry-like and again some diacetyl. Almost no bitterness. Interesting. 080107

Hazy light yellow color. Light aroma of citrus and vanilla. Mellow flavor, with light wheat character and vanilla. Light beer, but not without interest.

Poures cloudy yellow with a white head that fizzled away pretty quick. Aroma is wheat, and then some more wheat. Orange and lemon citrus are noticeable with a hint of spices. The flavor is very soft. Lemon and wheat are the main players here, with a very muted touch of spices. The wheat is not overpowering, it’s very well balanced. Not normally a fan of wheat beers but I could sit on my porch on a warm summers eve and enjoy a few of these.

Pours an beautiful amber color with ruby red highlights and an off white, fluffy head. The tartness of the cherries come through right off the bat. Malt sweetness, slight oak notes, and a touch of alcohol round out the awesome aroma. The flavor starts out like the aroma with the cherry tartness. The oak is a little more noticeable in the flavor as well. This beer finishes with a slight alcohol warming and more tart bitterness. The flavor is very original and complex. I enjoyed this to no end. Will have again.
