Pour is a dark brown with some red in there when held up to the light. Aroma is of cherries and some malts. Flavor is a bit tart with notes of wood and malty earthyness. Finishes very bitter and the alcohol leaves a warming sensation as it goes down. Overall this this satisfies on a cold winter night but i was looking for more of a mustyness and a little less of the tartness.

Pours very nice golden color into a tulip. Active 1/2 inch head that sustains. Aromatic: floral, hay, dough and leather. A little soapy, but still refreshing. Lively with lasting dry banana finish.

Tasted at Belgium Comes to Cooperstown, July 16, 2005. Hazy golden ale with a thin white head. Faint wheat and floral hops in aroma. Grainy mouthfeel, with herbal grassy notes, citrus, alcohol warmth. Medium bodied. Surprising good and interesting in mouth. 7-3-8-3-14

750ml bottle - Quality. This beer poured up a huge, foamy, long lasting head and is a very good looking reddish brown color. The aroma was sweet and good if a little light. It tastes malty and fruity with light carbonation. The finish is pleasantly bitter and crisp with a bit of nice, warming alcohol. And at four bucks a bottle at my local World Market, it’s a great deal on a Belgian brew.

A hazy deep red-brown beer with a nice brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of berries, but also lighter notes of yeast and wood. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of yeast, but also notes of wood, prunes, and berries, as well as hints of the alcohol. It is very sparkling on the tongue due to the carbonation, and it ends of with a slight alcohol burn.

(Bottle 75 cl) Beautiful mahogany with a tint of red. Creamy, off-white head leaving some laces. Sophisticated, vinous aroma with distinct alcohol. The body is solid and full with plenty of roasted malt. Sweet, fruity notes - of dried fruit like raisins in particular. Also very warming alcohol in the finish. 291205

Bottle: Poured a clear golden yellow ale with a huge bubbly white head with above standard retention. Aroma of pear and lemon with some distinguishable yeast. Taste is really hoppier then most Saison I have tried with a dry finish. Body is quite full and spice mix is interesting but could have been more accentuated. Very interesting take on the style.

Bottle. Pear and orange aroma. Light orange-yellow color with nice head. Nice fruity flavor - lemon primarily but also apple and pear. On the dry side with a mild hops finish. Hoppier than most saisons but still a very good and enjoyable beer.

Bottle: Poured a dark burgundy color ale with a large off-white foamy head with good retention. Aroma of subtle sour cherries with big strong malt. No hint of yeast, which is little surprising for a Belgian style ale. Taste is sweeter then expected with a strong malt body and a hint of kriek lambic at the end. Body is above average and alcohol is well hidden. I would appreciate a bit more complexity but this is still a very enjoyable beer.

Bottle. Sweet chocolate, cherry and nut aroma that turns into a rubbing alcohol smell as it warms. Opaque reddish brown color with small head. Initial sweet dried cherry flavor that fades quickly into a strong alcohol and bitter hops finish. Leaves a burning sensation on the lips and tongue. The alcohol flavor is too strong and overwhelms the more subtle flavors of this beer making it less enjoyable for me.
