An unclear dark orange beer with no head. The aroma is primarily yeaste, but also contains notes of malt and oranges, while the flavor primarily is sweet with notes of yeast.

Bottle: Poured a hazy amber color ale with a huge white foamy head with excellent retention. Aroma of floral malt, sweet hops with some subtle spices and a touch of Belgian-type yeast. Taste is a nice mix between some floral sweet malt and discreet yeast with some spices. Body is just above average but carbonation is a bit low for a Belgian Ale.

Bottle: Poured a pale clear yellow color ale with below average head with average retention. Aroma of orange and very subtle coriander. Taste is very light with limited spice (lack of coriander) with some limited sweetness/floral aspect. Carbonation is good but body is too thin. Watery feeling on the aftertaste kind of ruin this one for me.

750ml bottle had along with an Allagash Dubbel Reserve. Allagash was a smoother, creamier drink. Good flavor as it went across the palate, but didn’t care for the finish/aftertaste.

Aroma of malt and light fruit that is clearly an influence of the added lambic. Misplaced sweetness of a dunkel, but there is complexity with raisins, malt, carmel, and red wine. Heavy, but thinner than I would like. Almost no head. Very good, but I prefer the original Ommegang.

Huge long lasting white head that easily coats the glass in full sheet of lace. The body is medium yellow and efferfesces with tiny bubbles. Rich complex aroma is earthy and floral. Sweet and acidic aspects balance out well and this becomes better as the bottle goes on.

2004 Bottle: Pours reddish-brown with a medium thick dark beige head. Thin, slippery lacing. The aroma is fruity and spicy, with a pinch of malt. Medium-bodied with a tart but subtle cherry character. Sweet malt, spice and yeast flavors are offset nicely by the added Lambic. The finish is lively and long and fruity. Very enjoyable.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a nice big white head. Aroma is a nice banana and fruity mix with some clove in there. Flavor is a bit of corriander with a spicy kick at the end. Has a light bitterness as it goes down. A pleasing beer for the senses.

Wow. The aroma certainly is complex as the description says. There is fruit and malt, also roast beef and caramel. Dark red, with a large off white head that falls down, lacing the glass. One of the nicest looking beers I have had. Flavor is mostly malt. There is some dried fruit and sugar. Very full bodied. An excellent beer, and a great value.

Blonde ale with a light white head. Light spicey aroma. Good malt base with light coriander notes and alcohol warmth. Light sweetness in finish. Bottled at CNY brewfest, Feb.5 2005.
