Description
At DESTIHL, we brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing & because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. Cheers!
DESTIHL was founded on the promise of supporting flavor and boycotting bland. We're an independent, production brewery that was established in 2013 in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois to brew beyond the confines of typical beers. Our team combines centuries-old global brewing traditions and new American craft brewing ingenuity & artisanship to produce a wide array of beers for every palate. We brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing and because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. The result is a diverse offering of intensely flavorful beers that are anything but bland, from our award-winning WiLD SOUR Series, barrel-aged Saint Dekkera® Reserve Sour Ales and Dosvidanya® Russian Imperial Stout, to our many Belgian-style beers, IPA's, other wood-aged beers, classic styles and exciting seasonals. DESTIHL has become a brand, but we have not strayed from our roots. We take pride in our values and will continue to grow and support our local community. We promise to deliver on these uncompromising beliefs. Every beer we brew is unique. So, whether you share it or hoard it, we hope you enjoy it. After all, you deserve it.

From a brown can acquired from total wine. Pop the lid and a typical wild sour tart beer nose permeates the area and there is a hint of apple pie aroma in there too. The look is clear light pale. First taste is certainly quite tart, yes, but much more sour than gramma's granny smith apple pie, hehehehh. She used to call those green apples '4th of July apps' for some reason. Good level of carbonation in there. Yes, a nice tart overall beer tasting experience. Not sure if I'm picking out any cinnamon in there. Not bad for a drink, I don't think if I could do two of these and that's odd because I really do like tart brews. Yea, this is a good tart brew however, I thought it would be a little better, perhaps a little more well behaved. But hey, what am I complaining about, this is a good one.

Can From Canada Craft Club January 2024. Cloudy pale orange with a small frothy white cap that leaves stringy lace. Nose is tropical fruit, citrus peel and some biscuit and a hint of candied fruit. Light candy and bread sweetness with a medium grapefruit, pineapple and tangerine peel bitterness. Mouth is medium+ and creamy with slightly soft carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. Can was dated 08/03/2023 so could have been fresher. 7+/4-/7/4/14+

Can. A- Coconut, tropical fruits. A- Gold color, clear liquid, white head. T- Coconut, astringent, tropical fruit. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, unbalanced finish. O- This was pretty awful. Fair amount of coconut but really unbalanced and the fruit notes were astringent. Not good.

Pours hazy gold with a lingering white head. It has a citrusy, hoppy aroma. The flavor is moderately bitter, led by the citrus notes, balanced with a decent malt body and some pine. Medium body. Fairly good.
