Description
Une Anneé, an Independent Craft Brewery, was born, in 2013, on the near west side of Chicago, with the quest of making fine Belgian inspired ales for all beer lovers. Founded by architect and Chicago native, Jerry Nelson, Une Anneé, has expanded it’s offerings over the years with an emphasis on fruited and unfruited American Wile Ales and Barrel Aged Stouts. In 2017, the brewery moved to neighboring Chicago suburb, Niles, IL and expanded to include a taproom. The working brewery in the background lends a hand to creating a laid back atmosphere where you can sit back and enjoy some of your favorite craft beers on tap.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 7/11/2019. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy medium golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart/tangy orange juice, lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of oranges/zest, fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big lightly tart/tangy orange juice, lemon, lime, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; pepper/clove yeast spiciness; and light citrus tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy orange juice, lemon, lime, citrus peel/rind, peach, pear, melon, red apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, light banana/bubblegum, wheat, cracker, white bread, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, wood, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of oranges/zest, fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/bitter/spiciness and tart/tangy citrus balance; with no astringent hop/fruit flavors after the finish. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitter/spiciness, tart/tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky/resinous/rindy, and lightly acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited Belgian saison. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of oranges/zest, fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Amazing balance of vibrant citrus, Belgian yeast, pale/wheat malts, and earthy noble hops. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing spot on style example as expected.

Sampled from the bottle at the GTMW 2019. Pours clear syrupy red with a slight peach hue and a thin white head that dissipates completely. Aroma has some red wine, prickly pear, a bit of tart watermelon and a bit of funk underlying. Flavor has sour prickly pear, juicy watermelon, some acid and a barrel backing.

Tarty tart tart. I've written this 3 times already, damn you untappd for not caching this! Let it settle and more mango sweetness comes out and less tart raspberries.

Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a clearish, pink strawberry color with a small off-white head that dissipates. Lovely fresh cut strawberry aromas with some light lemon and rhubarb notes. Mild acidity, highly drinkable with bright strawberry and rhubarb that lingers. Refreshingly delicious.

16 oz. Aroma is berries, passionfruit, pineapple, lime. Pours hazy pale golden with a one finger off-white head with decent retention. Taste is mouth-puckering sour (10/10) with flavors of lots of different fruits, with seedy berries standing out in particular. The passionfruit, mango, lime and peach come through as well. Tasty.
