Description
Blue Moon is known for its Belgian-Style Wheat Ale which was created in 1995 by Keith Villa, a brewer at the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field, Denver. It was originally brewed in the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado. In the summer of 2016 a new state-of-the-art brewery was opened in Denver’s RiNo District. Since then we have been brewing fan favorites (old and new), and experimenting with new and unique ingredients on our pilot brewing system.

On tap. Hazy yellowish in color with white head. An orange wedge was dropped in it by the bartender. I think the orange over powered what little beer aroma and flavor there may have been here. I smell a bit of malt and something sour behind the smell of the orange. Obviously there is a fresh citrus flavor and that was about all I could taste. Might be the slightest hint of yeast in there. This beer is way too light in flavor and aroma to overcome an orange wedge. Disappointing product. Not something I plan to try again with or without the orange wedge. How this tastless beer won any award is well beyond my level of understanding? Therefore I need to lower my overall a bit more. An orange wedge in ice water is a better choice here.

An unclear orange beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet with notes of oranges, wheat, and soap. The flavor is sweet wheaty with notes of orange peel and lemon, leading to a short lived dry wheaty end.

Grainy (witbier) nose; very hazy gold color with very little head; wheaty flavor with citrus hints. Could this have been actually brewed by a macro?

Nice color of golden amber in the pour, with a decent white head. Taste is a combination of hops, wheat, and fruity tones. Finish is clean and crisp.

Draft - This is a pretty solid wheat beer and very easy to find. It has a thin head that stuck around awhile, leaving a bit of lacing. Somewhat cloudy appearance, sweet flavor with a bit of citrus, very easy to drink. I skip the orange slice my usual bar always serves with it.

Tasted much like Blue Moon’s Belgian White Ale. A slight hint of Pumpkin, but could taste other spices. Made the unfortunate move of drinking this after having another beer, so the flavor was not completely realized.

Despite being a Coors product I rather like the Blue Moon Wit so I was rather hopeful going into this beer. Of course that was before I found out that there was no actual pumpkin used in this beer. Hopes faded quickly. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange color with a large orange-white head. The aroma is spicy with nutmeg and cinnamon elements and is not wholly unpleasant. The flavor is dry and spicy with nothing else of note. The spices on the flavor are rather unpleasant after the first sip or two.
