Description
Blue Moon is known for its Belgian-Style Wheat Ale which was created in 1995 by Keith Villa, a brewer at the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field, Denver. It was originally brewed in the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado. In the summer of 2016 a new state-of-the-art brewery was opened in Denver’s RiNo District. Since then we have been brewing fan favorites (old and new), and experimenting with new and unique ingredients on our pilot brewing system.

Cloudy tan colour. Might be the ugliest wit I’ve ever seen, at least amongst unfiltered ones. Filtered ones are so much more heinous. Aroma shows a little curacao and some sweaty yeast notes that remind of suntan lotion. In short, it smells like a pleasant afternoon in Aruba. The tastes is remarkably similar with phenolic curacao and yeast sweat intermingling under a blanket of dull, plodding malts. Because this beer is every bit as uncool as mixing metaphors, it is like a bad karaoke version of a really good song.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) rangey golden, hazy with a bubbly head - actually quite a noisy head... Giant yeast sediment. Loads of fruit in the aroma, and loads of coriander. Classic Belgian White. Owned by Coors?? Do they understand the term Belgian White? Nice effort though.

Amber/copper body, medium light tan head. Sweet malt aroma with pumpkin spice. Flavor is quite light with biscuit and sweet malt accentuated by nutmeg and a touch of pumpkin. Reminds me of Cave Creek Chili Beer- "look, pa, this beer tastes like pumpkin!" Light, tame, and gimmicky.

Orange amber with a nice orangish-white head, and a sign that says "drink me," on the glass. Smells nothing like pumpkin- just has an "ordianry" beer smell. Taste is sweet and malty, but very little pumpkin. Decent spicing, but finishes more peppery, rather than with sweet spices. Unimpressed.

Amber coloured beer with a thick rsilient white head. Cardboard aroma (oxidation) with pumpkin spice coming nicely aftrwards, a bit cloying. Spices come out clearly in the attack in mouth with lingering, with a lot of sweetness and little bitterness. A bit too sweet for my taste but not bad. Medium bodied with a nicer balnce of spices and sweet.

I think this beer would be rated higher if people did not know it was a Coors product. That said, there are a number of wit beers out there that are better.I have had this beer a number of times both draft and bottle. The draft is a bit better but this rating is for the bottle. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer pours a tan - orange color with a small white head that quickly fades. The aroma is sweet, tangy and has a hint of orange. The flavor is relatively light with hints of citrus and spice. Pretty pleasant despite being the wrong color. A decent beer especially in placed that do not have much in the way of good beer.

Appearance: cloudy golden (like apple cider) with decent head that seemed to last a bit. Smell: strange, at first reminded me of soap... then the scent kicked in: the smell was that of one of those urinal "breath mints." Taste: tasted just like it smelled, but not really soapy. Instead, floraly, and fruity. Better than average taste, since it's kinda strange, but definitely not something I'd drink more than one at a time. Mouthfeel: not bad... feels like it tastes and smells. Drinkability: One is drinkable, two is not. This is a one-a-night beer. More than that would upset the stomach, as it's too fruity and filling (or maybe after awhile the constant smell of the urinal "breath mint" would send you gagging.)

Not much going on here. Thin and watery with no direction. I don't see how this is a Belgian White. It's a good thing Blue Moons don't occur very often.

Damn good white beer! nice touch of spice with a great alomst golden color. This brew is a little taste of belgium brewed right here in the u.s.a. of course not as good but as good as you are to find here in the states. Good price for a 6 pack is also a plus.

Pours a clear rusty orange with some yellow streaks. Large creamy white head that has some yellow tinges as well. Aroma of actual pumpkin, not so much spice. Some sweet malt aroma. Begins with a cinnamon pumpkin flavor that quickly is backed by a medium to light malt backbone. Has some light sugary tones and a good caramel flavor. Slightly airy and bubbly with lots of carbonation. Texture is actually quite smooth however. Low acidity and slight bitterness on the finish. A little bit of nutmeg and some astringency.
