Description
Crooked Stave Brewing Company is an artisan microbrewery in Denver, Colorado. It was founded by beer lover and beer brewer Chad Yakobson. The establishment of Crooked Stave was the result of Chad’s years of travel and studies about beer brewing abroad. His study of Master of Science in Brewing and Distilling at a university in Scotland gave him the expertise to set up his own brewery. Crooked Stave brewery is known for their brewing specialty in Brettanomyces fermentations and barrel-aged sour and wild ales. Crooked Stave Brewing Company is home to some of the finest sour beers. Some of its remarkable beers are the Crooked Stave Surette, Crooked Stave Vieille and Crooked Stave St. Bretta.

Notes from 10/30/17 On tap @ Covenhoven in BK. Stout, low-ball glass. An opaque, leggy, dark brown, edging on red. Smell is brown ale, edging towards a leafy greens, bitter, mixed berry compote. Faint oak. Taste is bitter-tart upfront, showing deep tannic blueberry skin about halfway through. Finish is dry, lingering bitter pith & slightly pesticidal(itching my tongue & throat). Solid sour & additives, if a bit direct.

Flaska från SB. Mahognyfärgad klar vätska utan skum. En stiltypisk oude bruin. Körsbär och plommon med kärnor, mjuk syra som är lite laktosyrlig, fat, kola. Gott

--Bottled, from Systembolaget. -- Almost clear copper colour, small head. Vinous, oaky aroma of dark berries. Tart with medium body and firm, well rounded mouthfeel. Mild vinegar, wood and dark berries. Mildly bitter finish. Elegant and delicious.

Flaska.

Still pretty beautiful. Lovely raspberry, tart woody notes. Acetic, but very balanced

2017 vintage. 750mL bottle, pours a hazy golden with a tiny head. Aroma has plenty of acidity, still lots of apricots, and a hint of funk. Flavour is highly acidic, with a bunch of juicy apricots, not much funk left. Too acidic and the carbonation is now flat; the fruit character is still decent, but there's not much good to speak of here.

Aromas are slightly old coffee, dark malt and roast. Flavors are similar to nose, old coffee stands out more. Would probably be pretty good fresh.
