Bottle. Clear, golden body, with a big, frothy, white head, that dissipates quickly. Aroma and taste of grains, hay and herbs. Taste has also some honey like sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium to light, with a low carbonation and it finishes with grains and herbs. Nothing special, but one of the better Helles I’ve had, with nice, full grainy aromas, more like a Märzen.

Bottle. Dark red to brown, clear body, with a medium, beige, creamy head. Aroma of toast, bread, chocolate, some fruitiness, like ripe banana and dark berries, also slight bacon notes. Taste is sweet, roasty, slightly sour, with chocolate, caramel, bread, toast, earth, red and dark fruits. Mouthfeel is medium, creamy, with a lively carbonation and it finishes sweet, slightly roasty, slightly sour. Not bad, one of the better Dunkel lagers from Austria, with a good balance between sweet, roasty, grainy and slightly sour, fruity notes.

Keg at Cardinal’s Hat, Worcester. Deep ruby, lasting tan head. Not very dunkel like. Bit of lactic flavour, fairly neutral aroma. Very neutral dunkel, some malt, slightly sour. Bit dull.

Keg at Cardinal’s Hat, Worcester. Gold, lasting thick white head. Now that is quite good. It’s got good flavours, good character. This I thought was the best of the bunch in the pub. Best character and a bit more depth of flavour.

Keg at Cardinals Hat, Worcester. Gold, thin white head. OK aroma, decent pils. No lager puke, easy drinking, no wet dog or cardboard. Pretty good, ok subtle hop on finish.

Keg at the Cardinals Hat, Worcester 03-03-07. This was a bonus beer for me as having drunk my Dunkel much quicker than Loz or my mum I was handed both of theirs tofinish. Light golden in colour, having a standard Pilsnery type bitterness, I agreed with Loz it just tasted a touch too fizzy for my liking and lacked character.

Keg at the Cardinals Hat, Worcester 03-03-07. Deep brown in colour with a large quite frothy white head. Whilst I’m not really that knowledgable on this type of beer, I found it to be jolly decent if somewhat a tad sweet to enjoy more than one or two of.
