Fra flaske på DSJT, Cardinal nov-16: brunsvart med rødlig skjær, ok skum. Fin aroma og smak av urter, julekrydder og malt, og med noen møre bær som skaper balanse. Myk og fin bitterhet og deilig ettersmak - en god juleøl.

Flaske fra Det gode brygg (Sandnes), delt hjemme med Steven: lett uklar rødlig rav med ok skum. Aroma av urter, skogbunn, malt. Karamell og urter i smaken, og mot slutten merker jeg noe metallisk. Førsteinntrykket var godt, men mot slutten synes jeg den tapte seg.

KØLF 080416.Dark mbrown colour with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, sourness. Flavour is roasted malt, coffee, sourness, chocolate, grain, dried fruits, alcohol. OK beer.

Bottle shared with TO on board Baluba in Egersund 31.07.16. Almost ebony. Very huge, and persistent, brown head and lacing. Fine aroma, with roaste malt and toffe. Roasted malt, dark toffee and coffee in taste. Quite dry. Refreshing and tasteful!

From bottle at Café Marna in Mandal with TO 30.07.16. Slightly hazy pale golden. Small bright white head and lacing. Aroma of pilsner hops and meadows. Very fine and balanced pilsner taste. Generously hopped!

Flaske delt med Ovesen under brygging: lett uklar gylden med fint skum som varer. Til en pilsner å være synes jeg den har en litt forunderlig aroma og smak av løvetann og brennenesle. Besk bitterhet i avslutningen.

Bottle shared with JMD at HNB 29.07.16. Slightly cloudy dark golden. White head and lacing. Beer starts of good, with malt and meadows. Then more dandelions and some earthiness. Decent bitterness.

Small offwhite head. Hazy amber body. Floral toffee aroma with citric, grassy, tropical fruit notes. Sweetish mealy tropical fruit and toffee taste with bready dusty notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish dusty grainy bready aftertaste with fruity floral notes. Very nice, highly drinkable, full of flavour and character. Quite unusual, too. Quite a lot of sludge at the bottom. (0.5l bottle, at Den Glade Gris, Oslo. Batch L189.)

KØLF 180316. Red amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is fruit, alcohol, apple, caramel. Flavour is fruit, malt, hop, berries, alcohol, apple, caramel. Medium to full body. Nice beer.

500 ml bottle. Rating based on the 2016 edition with blue label. This seems to be a different version to the 2015 edition or at least an improved version compared with the other ratings that all from 2015 so far and pretty low score. But I have not tasted the 2015 version so I can’t really now this for sure. Anyway, a hazy golden to orange body with a medium sized off-white head that’s rather slowly fades to nothing. Aroma is mild fruity with a hint of oranges, spicy yeast and honey. Mild but delicate aroma. Flavor is quite mild as well but more distinct fruity, smooth pale malt, moderate fruity bitterness and spicy yeast. Medium body and aftertaste. Smooth with some fruity freshness, no sharp edges, no off flavors. Not a particular exiting one, but as a mild refreshing thirst quencher for a lazy summer day it certainly do the job. Something between a golden ale and a Saison.
