Bottle 50 cl. Pours golden with a tiny, white head. Unclean, slightly tart aroma. Light body, a slight maltiness, a little sulphur - and nothing much more really. A whiff of hops. 200713

50cl bottle from Ølhandleriet. Pours dark amber to copper with a small white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, hops and citrus. Quite surprising with the dominating malt with some roasty notes, not quite what I expected. Very disappointing at first, but it’s growing on me. Medium sweet and malty with mild hoppy notes and a balanced bitterness. Strange, but quite nice after a while. --- Beer merged from original tick of Spangereid Pale Ale on 12 Jul 2013 at 22:10 - Score: 5

Medium shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral, wet grain, grass, hops, leafs, soil, caramel, cereal. Taste is slightly harsh grassy, wet grain, soil, leafs, hops, bark, grass, caramel. Medium bitterness. Wouldn’t really call this an IPA.

Tiny fizzy head. Aroma is roasted grain, hay, grass, caramel, yeast. Taste is roasted, dry and a little harsh, roasted grain, grass, cereal, burnt caramel, cardboard, coffee. Medium bitterness and dry mouthfeel. What on earth does this beer have to do with an APA!?!

0.5l bottle. This is a near clear, kinda pale golden one with a medium sized just off-white top. Pilsner like on the nose. Some hay, grains a little bit of thin caramel and a pinch of vegetables. Fair enough, but not to memorable. About average on the carbonation level and thin slightly watery on the mouthfeel. The flavors are soft sweet caramel, fruits, and the whole thing feels quite watery. Not one of those I really need to taste again. 02.03.2013

Bottle, at Hr. Redaktør! It pours a hazy, dark orange to golden body under a two-finger, partially rocky, off-white head leaving lacings. Orange peel, pine cones, caramel maltyness and some yeast in the aroma. Some yeast in the flavor too, and a hint of higher alcohols in the far back. Caramel sweetness, generic fruityness, pine cones and a touch of orange too. Pleasant and balancing bitterness. Full to medium body, pleasant carbonation. Lasting bitterness in the end. Overall, a quite pleasant Easter beer. 130329

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. There was a warning from the brewery that some bottles might be over-carbonated, but my bottle was perfectly carbonated. Deep golden to amber colour, slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Rustic homebrew aroma, woody and hoppy notes. The medium dry flavour is fairly well hopped throughout (probably with American hops), nicely balanced with the malts. Some piney and resinous notes, a moderate bitterness in the finish. Not bad.
