Bottle, at Hr. Redaktør! It pours a hazy, dark orange to golden body under a two-finger, partially rocky, off-white head leaving lacings. Orange peel, pine cones, caramel maltyness and some yeast in the aroma. Some yeast in the flavor too, and a hint of higher alcohols in the far back. Caramel sweetness, generic fruityness, pine cones and a touch of orange too. Pleasant and balancing bitterness. Full to medium body, pleasant carbonation. Lasting bitterness in the end. Overall, a quite pleasant Easter beer. 130329

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. There was a warning from the brewery that some bottles might be over-carbonated, but my bottle was perfectly carbonated. Deep golden to amber colour, slightly hazy. Moderate white head. Rustic homebrew aroma, woody and hoppy notes. The medium dry flavour is fairly well hopped throughout (probably with American hops), nicely balanced with the malts. Some piney and resinous notes, a moderate bitterness in the finish. Not bad.

500ml bottle bought at Ølhandleriet Mathall Oslo and shared with Finn back home. Fawn-coloured head that stayed well and left lacing rings down the glass. Jet black coloured body. Rich aroma of dark chocolate malts. Roasted malty taste with the support of herbal hops added by a smoky touch. Malt bitter ending. Quite nice, not overly sweet (Tromsø, 13.03.2013).

500ml bottle bought at Ølhandleriet, Oslo Mathall. White bubbly head, spotty lacing. Hazy, grey-orange coloured body. Grass hoppy nose, mid-dry. Taste of fruity hops together with caramel malts and a touch of starch. Mild bittersweet ending. Crispy mouthfeel. Nice pilsener (hotel room Oslo, 23.02.2013).

50cl bottle from Varnaveien mineralvann. Pours slightly hazy pale golden with a large, white bubbely head. Yeasty and hoppy aroma with pale malt and notes of fruits, citrus and grass. Lightly sweet with a fairly dry and pleasantly bitter finish. Light to medium body with lively carbonation. 50cl bottle from Varnaveien mineralvann. Pours very dark, almost black, with a tan head. Roasty aroma with chocolate, dark fruits, malt and hints of coffee, vanilla and wooden smoke. Medium body. Medium sweet with a lightly dry and spicy finish. Well balanced and enjoyable.

50cl bottle from Varnaveien mineralvann. Pours pretty clear pale golden with a lager white head. Hoppy aroma with fruits and berries, pale malt and hints of pine and yeast. Lightly sweet and quite fruity with a nice citrussy bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body with average carbonation. Refreshing and easy to drink IPA!

0.5l bottle courtesy of Beer3000 and shared with The Tasting Crew. Thanks Erik! This is a deep dark brown - almost black one with a small quickly sidesticking light brown-ish top. Smells quite nice. Roasted malty with a nice almost lactal sweetness. Clear chocolate here and some light dry cocoa hints. Enjoyable on the nose atleast! It's as good as flat on the carbonation, perhaps some traces of something prickling, and a thin oily mouthfeel. The taste is also nicely roasted with dark chocolate, espresso powder, some coffee and a nice sweetness. Roasty dark and really tasty aftertaste with lingering bitter dark coffee. Really impressive that they have squeezed all this flavor in this lightweighter. 05.01.2012

Aroma: Chocolate and Christmas spices.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and some bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: A bit sweet. Caramel malt and some roasted malt with a fine blend of Christmas spices.
Overall impression: Feels like a light edition of Nøgne Ø Underlig jul. Lovely norwegian grocery store Christmas ale.

Deep amber colour with a big frothy tan head. Nice lacing. Fresh hoppy aroma. Medium body. Mild sweetness and a fine bitterness. I really like this one. Hoppy nice flavour with a solid malty background.
