Bottle from House of Trembling Madness. Hazy dark gold/light amber with fluffy white top. Aroma of wheat and yeasty banana heavy fruitcake. Taste has a crisp wheat malty character with fruitcake and spice, hint of menthol, nice bitterness. The banana/yeasty esters are balanced in the taste and not full on like some in this style. There is more flavour than the regular Erdinger but its still predominantly wheaty in taste. Some I think prefer this and others not. For me I oddly prefer the regular Erdinger for its tasty easy drinking simplicity. This one is still good though.

Bottle from lowcostbeer.com, consumed 1 month before BBE. Near clear gold, big fluffy white head. Aroma is bready, hay, hint of pear. Taste of bread and a vague pear fruitiness, light clove and banana, slight herbal note also. Medium bodied, fine carbonation. The flavours aren't bold but they are balanced well.

500ml bottle and my first Weizenbock. Pours a clear dark brown, small beige head, circular retention. Aroma of sweet malts, toffee, light fruity raisin; decent but nothing amazing. Taste is more impressive, with the malt layers, toffee, coffee bitterness, toast, light fruity note. A lively fine carbonation pushes the flavours around the palate. Its good.

500ml bottle and my first Kristallweizen. Clear gold, massive white head, roaring fine carbonation. Aroma of fruity banana, light clove, grassy hops. Mellow fruits in the taste, very clean malt profile with a semi-crisp finish and bitter bite. Smooth to sticky on palate with soft carbonation. It is a bit like a fruity noted lager and that's not necessarily a bad thing, I enjoyed it.

500ml bottle. Dark brown with medium beige head which quickly dissipates leaving circular retention. Aroma of sweet malts, banana, caramel and raisins; nice. Taste is sweet creamed wheat, caramel, banana, chocolate. Smooth body, moderate carbonation. Simple but well made and sessionable.
