Our Edinburgh brewery is a small family run business that aims to provide a true alternative to the proliferation of mass produced and marketed beers. As an independent brewer, we are free to create a range of occasional speciality beers that compliment our core range of bottled and cask ales. We produce beers of all styles, so there is bound to be something in our range to please even the most experienced connoisseur.
Keg at the Guildford Arms. Pours clear golden with a thin, persistent white head. Aromas of sweet orange, pine. Taste is chewy, light dankness. More orange, bit sweaty. Sweet finish.
Can from Oddbins Beer Shop, Blackheath. Hazy gold pour with a fluffy white head (quite a lively number). Bitter lemon, grapefruit and pineapple nose. Lots of bitter fruit in the flavour. Quite nice.
Can from Oddbins Beer Shop, Blackheath. Hazy gold pour with a white head. Sweet citrus, vanilla, pine and fresh herb make up the aroma. Flavours of corn, grapefruit, lemon zest. Bitter finish. Good.
On tap at the Craft rooms Lincoln. Pale Amber colour with a shite head. Aroma has floral, citrus lemon. Taste floral and light bitter sweet. Dry finish.
On cask at Cloisters. Appearance - golden with a decent head. Nose - light biscuit and orange. Taste - mostly biscuit and oramge/lemon follows it. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - not very exciting for Alechemy. Balanced but no particular high points.
16th February 2017 Chelmsford Winter Beer Fest (with Rune, Rasmus, Saxo and Camons) @ KEGS. Cask. Light haze on this gold - amber beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Palate is smooth and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Mildly sweet malts. Good tropical fruity hops. Light floralness. Pine. Light finish. Nice beer.
Gravicask, 1/3 pint at Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival. Low white head to a clear, warm golden body. bubbly ring to the rim of the surface. Modest smell of tropical fruits. Fruity taste with mango and lemon up front followed by a drying, rounded, fruity finish. Medium bodied. Refreshing (15.02.2017).
Cask at the 2017 Chelmsford & Mid Essex Winter Beer Festival. Pours slightly hazy chestnut brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, biscuit and chocolate. Medium plus sweetness with light to medium bitterness. Medium body and slight oily texture. Carbonation is soft. Sweet malty finish.
Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Hazed amber with a thin head. Crisp with a good tropical fruitiness in aroma and taste, and a very light dryness in the latter.
