and start writing the story of a microbrewery. In the year 2018, five men from the brewing world decided to combine their love of beer and years of experience and thus created an international brand - Axiom Brewery. Three owners from Russia, two from the Czech Republic. And now guess where did they build the brewery. Of course, at Haná in Prostějov (CZ).
And who is the sixth? He is a rebel. He is a superstar among brewers. He is a legend of craft beer. And he probably got bored in his vineyards in Greece because he joined us. Ladies and gentlemen, Norwegian brewmaster Kjetil Jikiun, founder of the first craft mini-brewery Nøgne Ø in Norway, which had grown so much that he left it and founded another mini-brewery called Solo in Crete, and now he brews beer in Prostějov.
We brewed our first batch at Axiom Brewery in mid-2019, and during our very first six months we immediately climbed to the top of the Ratebeer.com competition for the best new mini-brewery in the Czech Republic. And we had not descend from there even after 2020 and thus defended our ambitions.
We adore a wide range of beer styles, all kinds of flavors and fascinating aromas. We experiment and innovate with passion, with one goal in mind. To treat you with traditional and unusual taste experiences. So we brew, test, taste and taste and taste… and now we have already brewed dozens of different beer styles, including the mindblowing Session Mead style, which we brewed in the Czech Republic first and the public reaction was heartwarming.

Bottle, courtesy of Jose, thanks man! Pours opaque golden with a quickly dissipating white head. Nose is fruity esters, spicy coriander, even a touch of orange. Taste is spicy and zesty, showing notes of coriander, esters, grains and orange peel. Closes with long lasting spicy, zesty finish, has light body and slight overcarbonation. Decent, as far as the style goes.

Tap at the Axiom Pub in Brno. Deep, clear golden pour, thick white head. Nose is low sweetness, moderate grassy bitterness. Taste is lowkey bittersweet notes, not really a svetly actually, more like a new wave pale lager. Closes with short, abruptly ending finish, has light body and lively carbonation. Kind of a meh.

Can at home, courtesy of Jose, thanks a lot man! Pours jet black with a beige head. Nose is THAT chocolate-banana aroma, and exaclty that. Thus feels kinda artificial tbh. Taste is moderate roasted malts at first, then some sweet notes of banana and a hint of cocoa. Pretty moderate altogether. Closes with that choco-banana finish, has light, somewhat creamy body and soft carbonation. Feels to artificial and light altogether, definitely lacks the pastry stout vibe.

Can at home, courtesy of Jose, thanks a lot! Semi hazy golden pour, thin white head. Light sweetness, some moderate zesty bitterness, citric tart character, showing notes of lime and orange peel. Not bad at all, but felt kinda safety-play. Not really bitter, not really sour, not really anything.

Tap at the Axiom Pub, Brno. Deep, clear golden pour with white head. Nose is light fruity, somewhat floral hops, some malts and a boozy touch. Taste is moderately floral hoppy character right off but then quickly takes a sweet and boozy touch with a hint of malts so that it doesnt feel totally empty under the hops. Closes with a bittersweet finish, has a light to medium body and a soft to average carbonation. Not really a pilsner altogether, but definitely an alright strong lager.

Can at home, courtesy of Jose, thanks a lot man! Pours semi-opaque deep golden with no head. Nose is sweet lactose, notes of marshmallows for some reason, light fruity notes. Taste is low tart notes, some fruity touch, citrus zest, lactic notes, mainly in the finish, slight peanut butter. Not particularly bad, but rather messy and the components aren’t really harmonic. Also what bugs me is why would they put IPA in the can when the beer has literally nothing to do with hops. Why not simply put pastry sour ale or something? Eh, rant’s over.

Can at home. Pours deep, clear golden with quickly disappearing white head. Nose is sweet notes of booze, stone fruits, light candy. Taste is honey, booze, light caramel and faint malts upfront, then come the hops, light fruity touch, moderate to heavy, kinda sharp bitterness but then it fades. Closes with a long lasting, warming, sweet and boozy finish, has heavy body and soft carbonation. Kinda messy, and way too boozy while some more hops wouldn't have hurt.

Can at home, courtesy of Jose, thanks a lot dude! Pours hazy golden with everlasting, thicc white head. Nose is surprisingly sweet and fruity hops, pretty pleasant nevertheless. Taste is light resinous hops, a touch of booze and honey, the hops come again but this time from the sweet side, showing that fruity character that's also present in the aroma. Closes with a dank, kinda bitter, kinda sweet finish, has light body and average carbo. Nice and round IPA alltogether, I dig the balance between the sweet and bitter notes.

Can at home from Jose, thanks man! Pours black with beige head that dissipates quickly. Nose is dark chocolate, booze, molasses and light coffee notes. Taste is pretty held back, some booze, some chocolate, but quite weak altogether. Boozy finish, light, almost watery body, soft carbo. Kinda meh.

Can at home, courtesy of Jose, thanks a lot! Pours opaque golden with thick white head. Nose is grassy hops but as it warms some vegetable-like notes also appear and there’s a hint of honey as well. Taste is lightly bitter notes of grassy, perhaps a bit resinous hops. Closes with kinda empty, a bit dry finish, has light body and soft to average carbonation.
