Description
Hogs Back Brewery was founded in 1992 in Tongham, and bought by current owner Rupert Thompson in 2012. In 2014, Hogs Back planted its own hop field on land adjacent to the brewery, bringing the traditional but near-extinct White Bine hop variety back to its Surrey home.
We’re a small family-owned brewery tucked away in the village of Tongham, in the heart of the old Surrey hop-growing region. Still an independently owned brewery, Hogs Back owe much of their success to their iconic, flagship real ale 'TEA' (Traditional English Ale) - a firm favourite of cask-conditioned real ale drinkers throughout the UK and a multi-award winning brew year-in, year-out.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Clear golden colored brew with an slightly bitter taste and an overwhelming milk chocolate aroma, flavor and hints. But must say this works well with this beer, and the English know to make this kinds of generally.

Cask at Wheatsheaf, Stoke on Trent. Pours a slightly hazy golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. Oranges to the fore in the aroma, plus some background tropical fruits. In te mouth it is sweet and fruity with a creamy texture, but some underlying bitterness as well. Tangerines and grapefruit with some hints of mango later on as well. Finish is slightly dry. This is quite decent.

Clear and golden with a bubbly/frothy white head. Dusty fruit aroma, light bodied with a little hop kick ahead of a soft peach taste, some bitter hops and light bready malt notes before a dry finish

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Golden-amber with a thin white head. Gentle peach blossom and orange with a touch of white bread. Simple, clean, easy drinking and pleasant enough. Next!
