Bottled Oct 2003/ BBd 2012(!) Dirty dark brown with reddish shine; dirty cream coloured, moussy head. Heavily perfumed fruitnose, with raspberry jam connotations. Part natural sugared fruit, part bathroom pearls. Nearly tart, surprisingly dry, very moderately sweet beer, fruitiness not very outspoken. Soft lactic & citric acid at tonguesides, more MF than taste. Much better than expected. But there remains a revolting perfumey thread running through it all the way. Quite dry, well-bodied, nearly creamy, a fruitbeer from Oudenaarde worthy. If they could cleanse this beer from the artificial womens’-magazine-perfumey-waxcandle taint, ’t would be quite good. As such, it isn’t.

0.75 l bottle Soda and cherry fizzlesticks, very slight horseblanket. Hazy neon burgundy color, lots of champagne carbonation, low patchy off-white head. Very fruity, quite sweet - only a bit sourness towards the end - a little bit faro-like caramell as well. Medium body and sparkly mouthfeel.

[Hot] An unclear red-brown beer with a nice dark red-brown head. The aroma is of overripe cherries combined with a little wood, cloves, and alcohol - reminds me of glögg. The flavor is sweet with a few sour hints - especially in the end, where it draws a little mouthwater. But the flavor also contains strong notes of overripe cherries, wood, cloves, apples, and alcohol. The end is dry but smooth. Really a nice beer. Thanks to Alex (fiulijn) for trading me this one.

Fully clear gold, slim white head, just yellow-tinted, dissipating. Nose like apple concentrate (I can smell it a mile away), a bit like jam being made (cooked) on the spot. Sweet harvest apples is the taste, sweeter than applejuice. It’s not bad, but neither good - there’s just nothing else. Light and syrupy mouthfeel at the same time. Well... if you really don’t like beer, AND have a VERY sweet tooth...

Ruby-brown colour. Sweet & sour, slightly nutty aroma. Slightly tart body, with some toffeeish malt. Quite refreshing with the late tartness. Fine session brew.

Hazy red body. Rocky, lightly pinkish head (good lace). Spicy aroma, gluhwein-like. Sweet (cherry), lightly sour initial floavour.

Dark amber to brown color; poor head. Refreshing Oud Bruin, balanced and with some sweetness to balance the (low) sourness, but not exceptional.

2001 vintage. Poured deep red with a thin off-white head and plenty of nasty-looking sediment. Interesting aroma of sour, red wine, oak barrel, vinegar, and musty cheese rind. The body was quite tart and sweet and dominated by balsamic vinegar with notes of oak, red wine, and brie cheese rind. Reminded me a bit of Verhaeghe Duchesse de Bourgogne but the latter beer was cloying, thin, and sweet with no sour balance. This beer is more complex and hits the right "sour" notes. A tasty sipping beverage.
