Bottle from a trade with tderoeck, shared with the RB crew at Gents Bierfestival. Tanzania’s Premium Lager (I had no idea they even had one but I guess it makes sense to be able to offer ’a beer’ to tourists), thanks Tim for the country tick! Moussy, irregular, bubbly yet stable, snow white head, ’old gold’ colour with greenish hue, strangely a bit hazy - unusual for a standard pale lager from an industrial brewery. Aroma of damp kitchen towels, soaked corn, wet paper, rotting grass, raw potato (starch-like effect which must be related to the haziness). Neutral onset, grainy with a corn-like ’bland’ sweetishness as can be expected from the style, sourish graininess underneath, very spritzy carbo, thin and slightly oily mouthfeel, metallic, some herbal and grassy hop bitterishness in the end - which I guess makes it ’premium’. This has all the properties of a bland, industrial ’macro lager’ but admittedly I had worse especially from Africa (no offense).

Thank you for sharing Alengrin! Sampled 330 ml. green bottle @ Gents Bierfestival 2016. 2014 Vintage. Apparently my second beer from this brewery. Hazy orange, little white . nose is old stale grain corn, unpleasant,… taste is sweet cereal candy, unpleasantly sweet, corn, paper, cereal, spoiled cereal,… Thicker than usual for a pale lager of this kind. Quite poor but there is worse.

From bottle at New Top Life Bar, Bagamoyo, 22.02.16. Very pale, clear straw colour. Diminishing bright white head. No lacing. Weak aroma and taste could have been any Eurolager, with hints of pilsner malt and soft hops. And maize and boiled vegetables. Slightly metallic bitterness in aftertaste. A bit waterish.
