Pale, some haze, thin head. Has an aroma showing nectarine, strawberry, and passionfruit. Light tartness, a bit of lactic, similar fruit profile, and a bit yeastier than I’d prefer.

Poured from 473mL can @ a hotel in Alert Bay (batch 309; pkg 05/05/2025). Copper brown with small off white head. Caramel malt, bread crust, mild figs, mild pine hops, okay attempt at an American barley wine.

On tap at Camp Beer, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has some piney hops, stone fruits, and a bit of rotting melon. Flavour is really nice, bringing out punchy piney hops, bitter citrus peel, some floral notes, and crisp biscuity malt. Nice vibrant hop expression. Solid stuff.

On tap at Camp Beer, pours jet black with a small dark brown head. Nose has plenty of wood, with smoky whiskey barrels, medium roast, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is quite rich, with deep whiskey barrels, dark chocolate, a touch of coffee, and medium roasted malt. Rich, velvety palate, nice woody character, and good balance. Surprisingly great.

473 ml can. Pours a bright mahogany with full head. Aromas of candi sugar, slightly dank hops, caramel and toasted malts. Flavors of candi sugar, raisins, pine resin, grass and dry toasted hops. Bitter finish. Seems a mix up of old school and modern. OK

473mL can, pours a hazy dark reddish amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is very malty, with lots of bready caramel, some dark dried fruits, and a touch of earthy hops. Flavour is dry and malty, with plenty of bready malts, toasted dry caramel, some booze, and a little bitterness. Lots of dry bready caramel malts on the finish. A bit unrefined but there’s some nice malts in here, and the lack of sweetness makes this more drinkable than it would be otherwise. Good but far from excellent.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 17/03/2025). Clear blonde gold with white head. Mild pine hops, some feint vegetal notes, grainy maltiness. Below average.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 18 Nov 2024). Clear amber brown with off white head. Biscuit malt, citrus and pine hops with a light resinous finish. It's a touch timid with the hops upfront, but it's competent enough. Okay.

473mL can. Pours murky yellow with a white head. Plenty of pear and cardamom, some spicy saison yeast on the nose. Flavour has dry pear skins, cardamom, spicy saison yeast. Not super complex, but decent enough.
