Draught@Apollo, Copenhagen. This one came out as a treat, as they had just found a semifull keg of beer in the back, so this wasn’t on the whiteboard, it was one of the workers who just came and asked if I have tasted this one, as they have some left in a keg in the back. During this CPH BF 2013 visit here I got some of the best customer service I’ve ever gotten at Apollo. So the Scottish strong ale (I was told 6.2 %) was a hazy pale ambery brown colour with a mediumsized white creamy head. Aroma was leathery, quite sweet malts with some nutty and floral notes. Flavour was rather similar with some mild yeasty notes, which actually did suite in quite well.

Draught@Apollo, Copenhagen. I’ve always missed this one, and this time was very close as well, until it struck me like lightning, I need the pils! Golden colour, mediumsized creamy head, that leaves good lace. Aroma is bready, slightly yeasty with some nice grass and grains as well. Flavour is grassy, floral and some hay along with sweet malts. Balanced and quite Czech like. Felt very fresh.
