(Bottle 33 cl) Hancock produces two different Christmas-beers of which this is the weaker. Golden in colour, not much darker than a pilsener. Some sweetness, some alcohol - but as with Hancocks Easter beer this is more like a typical strong Danish lager rather than the malty, full-bodied beer I would’ve expected - and preferred. Not bad, but far from great. 221199

(Bottle 33 cl) Very unlike most Danish Easter seasonal brews, this is rather yellowish golden (others are typically amber in colour), with a nice creamy head. There has always been a malty freshness to Hancock’s beers, and this is no exception. Medium body with a sweetish start, but later dominated by a very pronounced hoppiness. Unfortunately this contains several additives. 130899

(Bottle 70 cl) Rather pale golden, almost no head. Very nice, malty nose - disappears rather fast though. Lovely full-bodied, somewhat sweetish beer with a very present alcohol - but never unpleasant. You feel good ingredients in here, and some love has gone into the brewing. 290799

My thanks to Madsberg for this interesting Doppelbock. This formed a small creamy head that was a bit less than I hoped to find. Deep chestnut color, clear under a tan head. Aroma is caramel. The flavor is sweet, could use a bit more Munich malt though. Well balanced and alcohol is well hidden in this one.

Very small yellowish head over very dark red-brown to black beer. Rich chocolate nose, quite sweet , praliné filling, slight touch of liquorice and brown sugar. Fruity, Traubenzucker character; very sweet, even less liquorice and more sugar. Quite fizzy, cola-like MF; obviously light in alcohol but quite some restsugars, higher sugars, etc filling in. A good table beer for children, better than what most Belgian warehouses fill their crates with.Earlier Rating: 3/12/2004 Total Score: 2.9Beautiful red-brown; slim beige head, fast dissipating. Nose of raspberry jam, chocolate cake, brown eggbread, just a bit of malt,... In fact, excepted the bacon and the coffee, it smells like the whole coffee table. Quite nice and appetising. The taste brings one back to reality. And yet - it has an initial Coca-Cola sweet-sourness, with just a touch of hoparoma retronasal. Mouthfeel - ah, yes. It IS a tablebeer, after all. Velvety, let's say. Actually - I think this is great - in its style. Now this one, one can rear children on to become beertasters.

Amber beer. Malt, almond, alcohol and grassy hops in the aroma. Sweet, heavy, but well rounded malty flavour with quite notable alcohol, clean and quite drinkable for the strength. A very elegant super strength lager.

Bottle. Very sparkly. Colour slightly darker than yellow. Bubbly water with a hint of hop aroma. Better than most crap pils.

A deep red beer with a beutiful though disappearing brown head. The aroma is sour from the use of brewing cereal, with notes of licorice, straw, and some sweetness. The flavor is nicely sweet with notes of licorice and brown sugar. But the body is thin.

Pours dark nut brown with a fine though collapsing tan head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of liqurice and sourness from the brewing cereal. The flavor is very sweet with notes of liqurice, straw, and underlying notes of sourness from the brewing cereal. The end is slightly bitter and dry - rather bitter for the style.

Dark brown. Malty and peppery. The high alcohol content is evident, but suits the beer fine. Resembles a Belgian brune somewhat. Caramel-like and peppery aftertaste.
