Initially decided to only include ratings of new beers. But now adding in some older beers, but without details comments. Bog standard, if inoffensive.

Getreidig hopfiger Antrunk. Bitter-malzig, der Hopfen wird bitterer, nicht aber unbedingt aromatischer. Unauffällig, süffig, okay. 8/9/8/8/10/8

Pint on tap in Monteiths bar, Hanmer Springs. Black as black with thin tan film on top. Laces well. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Served too cold (of course). Light body, sweet taste with weak fruit notes. Finish has dry cocoa and a slight bitterness. S’alright but you won’t remember it tomorrow.

Orange rind aroma, ruby red beer with thin white head. Sharp bitter taste, finish has more pithy fruitiness. Some nutty sweetness apparent. Nice though no hop monster, more of a grown-ups’ quaffer.

Pint on tap at The Whaler, Kaikoura. Ruby red beer with thin white head. Slight aroma of malt and hops. Flat mouthfeel, taste is mostly malt. Finish has a little touch of tinny hops then the sweet sweet malt kicks back in. Standard NZ pub ale, dull but drinkable.

Bottle. Color: Clear orange golden, off white dense head. Taste: Grassy, herbs, malts and... hey, there are some hops too! Not as much as a India Pale Ale should have in my opinion. Overall not bad, but not what I expected. And a bit too sweet.

Bottle at Albert Heijn, Warmond. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt, floral hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a light grainy watery, light fruit, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle @ home. Clear orange golden color, medium sized white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, some hops but they’re quite faint and seem a bit old. Lightly bitter. Average body and carbonation. Meh.

A bit low on the hop profile. A decent hoppy blonde ale. Not an IPA.
Clear golden color with a fine white head. Decent dotted lacing. Moderate intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an average carbonation. Fair balance between sweetness and bitterness. Caramel malty, herbal, mild fruity and mild citric flavor.
[Bottle from Mitre in London, England]
