12 ounce can thanks to my friend Adam D.! 1/12/24 during snowmageddon. Black, large tan head, good retention. Aroma of oats, sweet malts, roast, bit of maple. Taste is roast, oats, bit of smoke and soy and coffee. Slick, decent balance. Solid.

From Aldi, pour is a dark amber with a large tan head. Aroma is mostly cinnamon. Flavor is again mostly cinnamon but some ginger and nutmeg are there on the back end. Not heavily spiced but just enough to let you know it's there. Decent especially for $6 a six.

Black with a small foamy tan head. Bitter and roasty with floral hops and nut. Medium finish and body.

Black with a small tan head. Toasty malt with waxy chocolate and a bit of vanilla. Long finish. Moderately full bodied.

12 oz. bottle from Aldi. Pours a super dark brown color with root beer colored highlights and a small beige head with fair retention. A few spots of lacing. Strong peanut butter aroma. Initial nutty flavor, but not nearly as strong as the aroma. The nutty flavor fades quickly into more of a soda-like finish. Too thin and too carbonated for a porter. No bitterness. I wanted to like it more, but it’s disappointing to me.

Tastes like a chocolate lava cake, which it should since it’s full of chocolate lava cake “natural” flavors. Bullshit pastry beer made with bullshit ingredients to fit a bullshit style popular in a bullshit market.

Ya know, for an Aldi exclusive stout, it ain’t too bad. Had a side-by-side with Guinness Draught and this beats it handily. Roast and bitter chocolate on top of cascara and dark berries. Not great, but if you’re buying Aldi beer, great isn’t on the table.

Banana, orange, clove, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow with large white head. Lightly sweet banana, orange, wheat malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Light body - plastic aftertaste.
