12 oz. bottle from Aldi. Pours a clear dark garnet color with a beige head and very good retention. Scattered lacing. Dark fall spices aroma. The taste follows the nose: Dark spices followed by some sweet caramel malts in the finish. Not over-spiced. Tastes like a mix of pumpkin beer and amber lager. A nice take on the style. Medium body. Low carbonation with a slick texture. Not bitter. Better than I expected.

6-pack of 12 oz. cans from Aldi. Pours a pitch black color with a tiny light brown head and fair retention. Fair lacing. Dark chocolate aroma. Dark, bitter, dry chocolate flavor with minor lactose notes and a strange metallic note to finish. Not as sweet as I expected for a pastry stout. Okay, but a bit disappointing. Lighter than average body for the style. Low carbonation, as expected. Some dark chocolate bitterness. At least the 8.0% ABV is well hidden.
