Bottle from Systembolaget in Jakobsberg, February 2013. Amber with a minimal white head. Aroma and taste of malt, toffee, biscuits, dried fruit and some earthy notes. Also notes of alcohol. Not much carbonation in this one. Drinkable but a bit boring.

Bottle from Tomlinsons, Inverness 071212
Chestnut brown, off white big fizzy head, dissipates to thin layer, over carbonated, some lacing
Aroma - Strong cinnamon and nutmeg, underlying vegetative smell, some dark malt
Taste - Strog cinnamon, nutmeg, bit of clove, over spicy, some dark caramel malts, hint of dark fruits, rather unbalanced, not a fan of this
Palate - Medium carb and body (after carbonation has settled down), quite creamy but without the background of malt flavour to back it up, spicy palate, still too fizzy. Finish - over dry, rapid strong spicy finish
Overall - Overcarbonated, rather unbalanced, the underlying beer seems rather dull and it has been overspiced to compensate. Didn’t work for me.....I tipped half the bottle down the sink

Bottle from Corks of Cotham, Bristol. Jet black and opaque with a short-lived, off-white head. Aroma of prunes, porridge oats and dark chocolate with a slightly roasty edge. Flavour had plenty more chocolate, coffee and a dryish finish with a lactic edge. Good.

Aroma: Weak floral aroma.
Appearance: Clear amber body with a tiny white head that soon fades to nothing. Very light carbonation. No lacing.
Taste: Simple grain, citrus and earthy flavours. Mild bitterness.
Palate: Thin to medium body with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Nice carbonation fizz.
Overall: Quite bland but perfectly drinkable. I wouldn’t buy this again - it’s just ok.
