Description
Initially launched in early 2020 as a gypsy brewery, they opened their own brewery in Autumn 2020.

Newbarns is a brand-new brewery, but the team behind it certainly know what they’re doing. McKenzie, his partner Emma McIntosh, Jonny Hamilton and Fred Bjerkseth have an impressive array of experience between them from the likes of The Kernel, Siren and Beavertown breweries

Can at home, 4th October 2020. Pours clear and golden. Aroma is straw and fresh grass. Taste is clean, cereal, grass and straw, bitter and balanced, so drinkable. Great Pils

Keg at the hanging bat. Pours clear golden, nose is melon, grapefruit, toffee, taste is juicy fruit, bitter, dry.

Can from Cork & Cask. Hazy golden body with a white head that holds well. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of tangerine and minerals. Flavour of grape and mint with a light bitterness on the finish. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Light fizz. This is bright, refreshing and in great condition. A classy beer from an exciting new brewery.

Can from Hoptimism. This can a was 4.8%. Golden colour with a thick white head. Aroma and taste malty light sweet and lemon citrus. Medium crisp body.

Keg at the Rusty Bucket, Eltham. Gold pour with a white head. Nose is bitter citrus, kiwi fruit, dessert pear. Taste is pear drops, more kiwi fruit, sherbert lemon. Lots of sweet fruit in the close.

Can from Westhill. It pours lightly hazy yellow - good with a medium foamy white head. The aroma is piney, earthy, cereal, toasty grains, touch of spice, tropical fruits, pineapple, passion fruit, melon and some gummy bears. The taste is firmly dry, earthy, good hit of bitterness, prickly pine, wood, floral, grass, spice, light tannin, pithy, tropical fruit vibes, pineapple, papaya and guava with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Enjoyable.

Can from Westhill Service Station. This batch is with Callista hops. The aroma is fresh, bright, clean, straw, grass, soft orchard fruits, hay, farmhouse bread and cereal. The taste is crisp and snappy, dry, clean, orchard fruits, apples, plums, grass, toasty grains, touch fo bread, light florals and hay with a dry finish. Average body and fine, prickly carbonation. Crisp, clean and fruity. Quenching and moreish.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours clear pale golden with a thin white head, nice lacing. Aromas are bready malt and straw. Taste is crisp and clean. Classic pilsner.
