Description
Originally the Sailerbrauerei was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1544. After a long history 1967 is considered to be the decisive point in the history of the brewery. In that year the master brewer Gerd Borges and his then wife Gertrud, née. Sailer took over the management of the brewery and made the brewery a great success. After 36 years Borges decided to sell the enterprise. Since 2003 Sailerbräu and the brand Altenmünster Brauer Biere became through the Allgäuer Brauhaus part of the Radeberger Gruppe.

Bottle picked up from REWE, Zolling and consumed at home Attenkirchen Sunday 1st March 2020. Listening to Balthazar - Fever. Pours hazy dark brown with an off white head, tangy, fruity and a touch dry. I was expecting a little caramel sweetness but nothing at all, a little metallic twang. Quite good.

Bottle from local Rewe. Pale strawy yellow, mid-sized white head. Malty, Grainy with shy hoppy hints. Quite boring, exactly as expected.

Amber to orange color with a frothy head that soon turns thin and creamy. Peach, pear, grass aroma that is mild but quite nice. Taste is less interesting, grainy and mild bitter with some sawdust dryness at the finish. Light, lingering pear notes keep it from being unpleasant, but quite uneven. Medium bodied, honey smooth. Balanced carbonation. Okay for casual drinking.

500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with slight ruby glimmer and average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Grainy, strawy, minimally toasty, dark malty aroma, hints of spelt, a touch of burnt caramel. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty, a touch of malt lozenge, artificial sweetener, some spelt, a touch of burnt caramel. Slightly artificial, monotonous - not good.
