Description

Light amber color. Somewhat vinous aroma with toffee, sherry and malt. Malty, sherry-like, just a bit alcoholic flavor with hints of oak and caramel. Nutty bitter aftertaste. Oxidated a little? Maybe, but it does suit the beer.

Tap, Café Morshuis Albergen. Large glass for € 2,-. Indeed, pear in the flavor. Poire Williams liquor even. Also in the aroma, especially when the beer (that is served quite cold) warmens up. Caramel. Rahter sweet and just below medium bodied. Just a touch of alochol. Easy drinker with just enough character to be pleasurable, but somehow I expected better.

30 cl. bottle as Franeker Planeten Pils @ Alex and Suus. Clear yellow with a white head. Grainy aroma with some very faint hops. Medium bitter taste with a moderate body. It's 'just' a pilsener, which is actually quite remarkable coming from a craft brewery, but pretty decent.
