Fluffy, huge head, shoeing away as energetically as it built up; golden beer with a rosé sheen. Faint fruity nose, that might well be raspberry. Also something spicy (coriander?). Fruity, sourish (underscored by the very lively carbonation); and again a spicy streak as from coriander. Some dry malts too. Spritzy, near agressive carbonation; slight acidburn, light body/high attenuation. Far from bad. I keep wondering about this coriander thing - just my imagination or did they really add the infernal weed?

Light gushing to just off-white head, very stable and fed by very lively carbonated, faintly veiled golden beer. End of bottle solid yeast. Smoked, tar, tarred wood, phenolic, bit mineral, rookzout. Smoked, phenolic malts, Islay malt whisky, tar, tarred ples, Lapsan Souchong. Not very well bodied, spritzy to fizzy carbonation. Rather undimensional, but definitely one to try by the Rauchlovers.

De Vlier’s first, since 2008. Snow white, creamy head, pale golden blonde colour with greenish hue, clear. Aroma of apple, vanilla, lemon peel, white bread, young cheese. Soft apple-like onset with subtle citrus for refreshing effect, quite strong carbonation, cheesy and light malty, honey touch, light floral hops in the finish. Elegant session beer.

De Vlier’s second, presented at beer festival "Van Baby tot Opa" near Leuven in 2009 and named after the fact that the brewers were born in 1969. Thin, quickly opening, milky foam, deep yellow blonde colour, misty. Sweaty aroma, some H2S unfortunately, otherwise apple, mango, peach, vanilla, smoked bacon and white bread. Soft apply taste, dry, pale malts, smooth, thin, even flat due to underachieving carbonation, very light hoppiness in the end ruined by the retronasal H2S. Obvious failure.

Tripel with rocky, off-white head and cloudy peach blonde colour. Yeasty aroma of sourdough, citrus peel, coriander, caramel, unripe peach and white bread; bready malty and yeasty taste, bit powdery mouthfeel, apple peel, soft, long hop bitterishness in the finish. Not a bad example of its style.

Christmas ale from this young micro brewery in Holsbeek, atypically unspiced, with three grains and two hop varieties. Malty taste, dried fruits, yeasty, hints of coffee and chocolate in the finish, velvety mouthfeel (probably because of the oats).
