This stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, tan coloured head. Minimal lacing. Scents include coffee, dark chocolate and a little caramel. First swig was smooth and creamy with flavours of coffee, molasses and dark chocolate. Finish is roasted, with burnt toast flavours lingering.

Slightly hazed peach-pink colour with a big frothy white-pinkish cap, lasting a fair amount of time, leaving some light foamy lace. Lots of cranberries-raspberries in here, in the nose, with some hints of chlorine from the hops - I guess. It's just that mix it seems, which translate to the taste as well. Maybe the water. Looks like it could be the yeast notes I am also getting stronger and stronger in the mouth. This and the fruit give a little tart. Sour enough, but just can't really like this thing that is bugging me from this one.

This dunkel poured a hazy, deep amber colour with a minimal, light tan head. Minimal lacing. Scents include prunes/raisins/ripe fruit, caramel and dough. First swig was quite good. Flavours of raisins, caramel and must finishing with pure malt with ripe fruit. Not bad at all, the only complaint is that it could be creamier.

Can that pours a clean copper colour with a caramel-golden hue. The bubble-foamy head is warm-beige coloured with decent stay and minimal lacing. Does get hazy at last pour. Darker malt nose with some rye spiciness and mild grassy hops. Pretty much the same for taste with some certain richness. Thankfully, those hops cut the syrupy aspect this sweetness could create. It is not bad, but a little too rich overall to have a full can.

Tasting at Brian's, can
The colour is near black. Some chocolate, some dark bread, sweetish, light vanilla, but the malt flavour is not very rich, the result is fairly shallow.

473mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma reveals medium roasted malt, a little vanilla, and dry coffee beans. Flavour is along the same lines, with high roast, dry coffee and a hint of vanilla. Nice addition of coffee and vanilla, with a big roasty base. Good stuff.

Pours a lightly hazy golden colour with a warm off-white frothy cap, good stay and some tiny spots of foam lacing. Orange citrus aromas with honey notes. Some solid bitterness in the taste with a dry finish. Nice flavours of citrus and grassiness. Gets hazier at the end. A pretty good West Coast style, bitter IPA with some mild juiciness.

Can from the Brewery, drank on the dock at the cottage. Dark gold pour with white head, nose of resin and some citrus and honey. Tastes of resinous hops, over a mildly sweet malt base, bitter finish. Overalls not mind blowing, but not bad. The lcbo offerings of this brewery are weak, but there are some excellent choices to be tried from the brewery. (plus they are my cottage local.)
