Can. Fairly dark brown with a cm of light tan head. Bready aroma with some chicory, earth, dark sugars. Sweet at first with a yawning depth of roasted and dark malty flavours that gradually reveals itself. Roast, spicy hops, licorice, singed notes make the end bitter but I can't tell how much each contributes.

Can. Dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of strong bread, chocolate, brooding roast, some licorice. Not notably silky. Quite rich with chocolate and roast then a nice spicy hoppy bitter finish. Solid.

Can. Dark brown with a light tan head that fades to the rim after a while. Aroma of chocolate, red wine, bracken, some feral muddy forest floor weirdness, hard spices. Smooth texture is a little lighter (thinned?) than guessed and there is a little warmth. It's dry and and only a little tart with chocolate, bread dough and oaky red wine. Dry finish with oak and spices. Skill and taste on display.

Can, 11C. Almost black with a fat coat of light tan head. Aroma of dried and some stewed fruit, some roast, strong bread, spices. Just medium bodied. Dryish, spicy and a touch roasty with the fruit relegated a bit far back for my liking. Still, raisin, dried banana and wild fig are there. Licorice amongst the spices towards the fairly bitter end. I suspect I'll like this better after a couple of months but again this is a high-quality, no gimmicks, thoroughly convincing beer.

Can, 10C. Darkish brown with a somewhat loose pale beige head. Aroma of dark bread, some chocolate, spices. Malty indeed but not very sweet with a brief seeming-richness that drops away leaving a mildly spiced bitterness that gradually grips. Drinks itself. Very good in a style that rarely excites me.

Can. Clear reddish brown with a small pale beige head that never disappears. Aroma of cherries, oak, red wine on the turn. Medium bodied, not really slippery. Not as fruity in the taste with dark bread crust and cherry, moderate sourness (and acid) and a dry and oaky finish. Pretty good, maybe lacked a bottom end richness.

Can. Slightly cloudy yellowish orange with a brief white head. Aroma of floaty tropical fruit, mildly funky crackers, honeydew melon. Slightly slippery, fairly fizzy. Fruity but fairly dry before a very dry, brackeny, moderately bitter end. Hard to say whether it's tart at all, although there's lacobacillus as well as saison and brett yeast. It's very refreshing with subtle depth.

Can. Yellow, a little cloudy. No head. Mildly funky aroma with spices, oranges, old lemon, bracken. Lightish bodied, fairly fizzy. Crackery malt with some wheaty funk, mild spices. A bit twangy. Low bitterness at the dry end. Refreshing.

Can. Cloudy pale orange with a doming white head that lasts very well. Aroma of lemon, pepper, banana, crackers. Light bodied - a bit thin really - with twangy wheat and a spicy (white pepper, cloves and some coriander) slightly bitter end. On the lighter rather than the bready end of things. Refreshing, will go well in summer.
