Can. Almost black with a tan head that's soon less than a coat. Aroma is full of toast, dark sugars, stewed fruit and dark rum. Some chocolate and spices. Pretty much how it tastes. One of those beers where there's no overt alcohol but you can feel it's big. Oak and gentle bitterness appear after a time. Deeper than Liquid Bread but a little less elegant and transparent. But the oak is really deftly handled.

Can. Unclear orange with a good cm of white head. Bready aroma with floral and spice notes, some lemon. And then punchier pepper and bitterness than that suggested. Another pretty good pils.

Can. Clear golden amber with a cm of white head. Pine and breadcrust aroma with kumquat, peach and weeds behind. So it tastes although there is a hint of butterscotch. Dryish, but enough crust on the bread to not seem vacant. Fruity under a fair bit of pine. Fairly bitter finish.

From a 375ml can on 3/7/2026. Pours a deep brown with a small, fast disappearing heads. The nose features dark and dried fruit with a whiff of rum. Tastes plummy, with touches of bready and caramel malt, and vanilla, with some warming rum at the back. Fullish bodied, with a lightly syrupy palate and average carbonation. A very pleasant winter sipper.

Can. Pale gold with a good inch of white head. Aroma of lemon peel, crackery dough, lime, pepper. Dry and getting drier towards the firmly bitter finish. Citrus at first then hard spices. Refreshing, perhaps not as characterful as hoped.

Aromas of passionfruit, mango, orange peel. Nice balance of tropical fruit and citrus in the mouth. Very easy drinking eight percenter.

Really great aroma of toast, roasted chestnut and raisin. Nice flavour, but lacks a tiny bit of bite.

Can. Even turned, it's barely misted golden amber with a cm of white head. Aroma of bread, peach, hints of apples, weeds. Sweetness that's a bit biscuity comes through gradually and is met by firmish weedy bitterness that lingers. Pretty convincing.

Can. Moderately hazy orangish amber with a fluffy cm of white head. Aroma of peach, crusty bread, some biscuit, hints of herbs. Pretty much how it tastes - the hop aromatics emphasizes sweetness, so it needs the firmish bitterness and very slight astringency to balance. Very tasty but fairly straightforward for its strength.

Kind of expect this to be called The Yellow, but OK. Can. Roasty aroma with coffee, some cola, liquorice. Dryish with mocha and roast, hints of prunes. I want to say weedy bitterness but maybe that's projection. Stern bitter finish is pretty great but maybe what comes before is thinner and not as enveloping as Coopers.
