About
The brewery closed in 2000, beers are produced at "Hohenthanner Schlossbrauerei" since then. Current plans are to reopen the original brewery in autumn 2020.

A golden beer, a head is medium and white. Aroma has maltyness, light grain and hay. Taste has maltyness, hay, some sweetness is left there. Medium bodied. Very drinkable.

0.5 l bottle from 'Craftbeershop.com', best before September 2025. Clear, dark amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly floral aroma of grains, dark honey and nuts. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter and a little floral taste of grains, toasted nuts, dark honey and light bread crust, followed by a short, moderately bitter, minimally roasty finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Decent.

500ml bottle. Wonderful, crystal clear, redd-ish, copper-ish, dark amber colour with average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, white head. Mellow, minimally grainy-spicy, (caramel) malty aroma, a touch of rye, spelt, rye-like spiciness, some caramel. Taste is minimally bready-grainy, pale malty, slightly caramel and minimally dark malty, some residual sweetness, mildly bitter, hoppy counterpart, hints of caramel, a touch of malt lozenge, rye-like spiciness, a weak sugary touch of rock sugar.
Watery texture, smooth, simultaneously minimally dry palate, medium to fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation.
Nice appearance, nice spicy touch, fairly drinkable - nothing spectacular overall.

Bottle picked up from Getrankemarkt Fleischman after a short cycle from Freising along Isar then Ettingermoos to Eitting and back, had this sat in Frank at Freising P&R the campervan area. Pours orange amber with a white head that rapidly departs. It's almost clear but there's a very slight haze. Soft mouthfeel, easy drinking, a little thicker than expected, lacking a bit in the carbonation stakes, a touch syrupy and a bit too sweet.

Tap at the weird bierfest in Rastatt. Deeper mahogany with an off-white head. Toasted malts, biscuits and bread show, malty in a surpgrisingly clean way, drinkable, pleasant. Maybe it’s due to the infernal offerings of the festival, but this one seemed pretty okay

Kalea-Bieradventkalender (Deutschland-Version) 04.12.2024 Ein klassisches Kloster-Helles ⛪, das sich leicht trinken lässt und angenehm süffig rüberkommt. Nix besonderes, aber allemal ein guter Durstlöscher 😋.
