Description
On St. Patrick’s Day 2007, Double Mountain Brewery & Taproom was unveiled to a thirsty public. Double Mountain was founded by Matt Swihart and Charlie Devereaux with a clear mission: make great beer for craft beer fans! Ours is a “brewers’ brewery”, with an uncompromising focus on beer quality. From the beginning, our goal was to make beers that we liked to drink. All of our beers are served up unfiltered and long-aged, to deliver maximum flavor and character. The beers can be very complex and assertive, but with the ultimate goal of proper balance. We aim to satisfy both the hardcore aficionados and the more casual craft beer fan, all in the same glass.

Draught at Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar (W. Broadway), Vancouver, 10 oz
Hazy amber color with small head. The aroma is malty, biscuity, mellow, fresh, fruity: sweet oranges, plums, hint of tropical (7.5). Lean mouthfeel; the malt flavor has a mild caramel accent, light residual sweetness, the bitterness is well controlled, there is plenty of orange flavor, but a bit of paper too in the final.
The fruitiness in this beer is original and under the spotlight. Excellent.

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 10 oz
Cloudy dark amber color with small head. The aroma is strongly fruity; sweet oranges, mandarins, other citrus fruits and a touch of tropical fruits. Good body strength, not too thick, with lean mouthfeel; the malt flavor is good, with a caramel accent, but also a bit dusty; the hopping is strong and of quality, with plenty of fresh fruity character, and soft resins.
I’m a tad unimpressed by the dusty touch, but the hop job is really worthy.

Poured from the tap. Orangey brown with off-white head. Aroma of apple, citrus hops, and caramel malt. Flavour same. Excellent balance of hops and sweetness.

On Tap at the River Room at Whole Foods Boise Hazy deep orange. Smal wispy off-white head. Very interesting sweet juicy fruity hop aroma and flavors. I can place it. Floral and like tangerine candy. Unique to me. Very fresh and bright and tasty. Really like this.

Really loving fresh hop season. Another great "red", not much to look at but full of hoppy aroma and taste. Alcohol pokes its head in here and there to remind you to be careful. Well crafted.

On Tap at Bier:Thirty, Boise. Black with a full tan head. Not as thick and dense and most nitro. Nice dry sharp roasted aroma and flavors. A touch of grassy spearmint. Finishes with quite a bit of roasted astringency. Dry, light bodied. This is what Guiness should be more like.

Awesome kolsch! Brewers in Cologne would be proud to have this. One of the best American kolschs I’ve tried. Light and bready, lots of pale malt, biscuits, crackers. Tall airy head (poured into my Fruh stange), Pale golden and effervescent. Right from the first sniff I knew this was going to be good.

On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a golden topped with a small head. Nose is citrus pine hops and some sweetness. Taste is more of the hop combo citrus and pine with a good malt bill.

500 ml bottle. Pours a hazy gold with light head and some floating sediment. Aromas of candied citrus, tropical fruit and toasted malts. Flavors of pine/spruce and bitter citrus peel with a late bitter vegetable note. Nice experiment using the older hops but I think I’ll avoid in the future.
