Description
Epic ales to celebrate legendary Dwarfen deeds! The Fownes Brewing Company was started in 2012 to bring a fresh breed of outstanding ales and porters to the good folk of the Black Country. In the seven years since we rolled the first cask out of the brewery doors we've gone from strength to strength, picking up awards and recognition on a regional and national scale. In the autumn of 2019 we took the bold stride to relocate the brewery deeper into the heart of the Black Country, so that we could forge our next chapter and expand our ability to bring our unique, epic ales to a wider audience than ever before.

Last beer of a long day, 5th August 2023, Stag Do of AndyTF2. Cherry Reds, Brum. Cask half-pint. Clean and clear bright golden body, white crown. Mosaic hops do their thing, some light malt action calms them done, but this is all about the hops really. Citrus and berries from Mosaic (mostly).

Cask at Old Royal Oak, Burton. Pours golden yellow with minimal white head and good lacing. Aroma has summer fruits with a hint of malts. Sweet malts briefly in the mouth, before moving to slightly bitter with marmalade and barley sugar. Bitterness increases along with a citrus zest and some hints of spices. A little dryness in the finish. This isn’t really my cup of nice, but it’s nice and refreshing.
