Bomber split. Opaque black, with some toffee-brown edges. Thin, oily head. Very mellow carbonation, with lots of oaky tones. Rich caramel. Well balanced, rich but still quite easy to drink. Awesome vanilla-chocolate oak aroma. Smooth, smoky and sweet.

Courtesy of ksurkin. Pours dark ruby red with tan head. The aroma is smooth sweet inviting goodness with a mix of pine, sweet ripe cherry yumminess, chewy malts and concentrated plum juice. The taste is rich and yummy with pine hops, ripe cherries, sweet malts, more pine hip resiny-ness, plums and sugar stewed raisins. Wow! Love it!

Courtesy of ksurkin. Pours murky mahogany with tan head. The aroma is big musty aged pine hops and sweet crusty malts followed by a touches of citrus and sweet malts. The taste is just yummy with thick chewy malts and caramel bounded by a wonderful layer of creamy candy goodness, firm aged pine hops, a sliver of citrus and rich sweet dark fruitiness off in the background.

12oz pours a very slightly hazy, golden yellow with a thin, lightly frothy head. Nose is very heavy on the orange peel, yeast, spice, coriander, light sweetness. Flavor is standard wit, oranges, yeast, spices, bread dough, lemonade, perfumy. Finish is medium bodied and lightly chalky.

Marks for Appearance are an average, as beer was sampled in weak artificial light after dark. Sweet, vanilla-like aromas in the nose, fresh oak. In fact, a bit of a vanilla overload. Taste is better balanced, with sweetness, alcohol and some (roasted) bitterness. Burning MF, very high alcoholburn, bit spritzy. A wee bit too much Bourbon, an little underdone on the Porter...

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville. VA. 5/26/10. Pours a slightly hazy yellow color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread and spice with faint fruity notes in the finish. The taste is dry caramel, bread, some toasty notes. A little powdery. Medium bodied. Decent standard witbier, but not too interesting.

Bourbon dominated nose. Motor oil black, with a thin dissipating yellow head. Very full bodied and thick. Molasses flavor with very green grassy hoppy accents. Currant and cherry at midpalate. Plum skin and bark finish. Excellent transitions, very dynamic and complex. Alcohol quite obvious. Not overdone with the bourbon, but still hot. A bit of a chore to drink, but definitely not boring. A fun sipper.

Draft at WBF Richmond: Very shitty smell with only traces of lemon. Milky yellow, no head. Flavor is of shit and coriander, finishing with rice. Very disappointing from a usually reliable brewer.

Bottle thanks to IBrew2or3: Poured a reddish brown with a light head. The aroma is boozy and hops. Taste is an awesome mix of boozy caramel malt and hops.
