22oz bomber. Very attractive dark brown-amber color, thick with lots of texture. This IIPA could be a Barleywine if it were labeled as such. Rich and creamy with great cascade character. Lots of resiny, hop syrup action going on. An interesting and classy beer in the bottle, would love to try it fresh on draft.

Slightly hazy copper amber body with a medium fizzy tan head. Slightly nutty caramel aroma with some grainy notes. Caramel and grainy flavor with some fruity hints and a dry earthy hop finish. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.

22oz bomber purchased at the brewery shop. Displays/suffers some of the undesirable qualities other raters have mentioned, such as oxidation, sourness, and little to no head. Relatively uncarbonated. Despite these flaws, I found the beer to be quite enjoyable. Rich porter-like toffee and chocolate notes. Some solid brown nutty malt flavors come through as well. Doesn’t say the ABV on the bottle. I’d really like to have this one on draft.

Lightly charred oak and chestnut aroma, with cocoa also present. Thick viscous black pour with a firm medium dark brown head, great lacing. Mainly charred oak flavor with date and grass notes. A little like battery acid on the palate. Full mouthfeel with good balance. Not really as good as I hoped.

Bottle. # of 2007. Pours a dark reddish/amber with a medium off-white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is caramels, with fruits, and a small note of citrus. Flavor is malty, with notes of roastedness, with a touch of citrus.

Bottle 1628 of 2007. Clear very dark amber body with ruby highlights and a large creamy tan head. Sweet caramel aroma with molassas, roasted malt and a light fruitiness. Very sweet caramel flavor, more molassas and rum soaked fruit. Full body with moderately low carbonation and a sticky syrupy mouthfeel.

22oz bomber. Opaque pitch black color. Mellow roasted malt aroma. This is a hell of a beer. Big and full bodied, with a sugary sweet finish. The ABV is reminiscent of an Imperial Stout, but the taste is all porter. Well done. Creamy and quite drinkable. A quality beer.

Bottle 1901 of 2007. Pitch black body with a medium creamy brown head. Sweet roasty and caramel aroma with some hints of molassas. Sweet roast, lots of caramel, light molassas, very creamy. Medium full body with low carbonation and a very smooth creamy finish.

Thanks to dkachur. Pours dark murky brown and with a small quickly fading head that turns a hairline halo lacing. Aroma is nicely light tangerine hops, light esters, and some light soft biscuit malt. Its like a "regular" brown with some sharp fruit and hops, which is really nice. Taste is similar with less sharpness and less of the felt maltiness. But its fine that way, just a quaffable no nonsense brown. A really good beer... for a brown ale.

Bottle from the brewery. Pours dark reddish brown with no head to speak of. Aroma of caramel and hair salon (I guess thats the hops?) Taste is a little metallic, but does have nice notes of honey and chocolate. Not a bad everyday beer.
