Black walnut, wheat malt, and straw aroma. Dark brown with small head. Lightly sweet black walnut, wheat malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Good body. Unique - delivers on the black walnut.

Good, but rough around the edges. Lots of grapefruit, mandarin, and stone fruit, back up by passionfruit and a little earth. Malts come across a bit raw, and the alcohol is apparent. Not bad, but needs some fine-tuning.

Can (9/30/24) from Crosscut Package, Mtn. View. Appearance is hazy dark yellow-orange-light-brown, no discernible sparkle, finger-width off white head with fair retention and no lacing. Aroma is lemon, pineapple, late pine and bready malt backdrop. Taste is strong lemon, pineapple similar to aroma with late resiny pine, but enough sweet malt to provide balance. Light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, good. Sweetness of NEIPA, malty, pine of West Coast.

10.03.2018, can (from the 2013 Great American Beer Festival) sampled @ yespr's tasting:
Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish fruity, sour tropical fruits, sorrel, berries, fruit stones, marmalade, grass, dusty cellar, hay, alcohol. Taste is dry mineraly, weeds, minerals, bark, grass, paper, hay, fruit stones, old tropical fruits, paper. Medium bitterness, watery and harsh grassy mouthfeel. Fair enough, given the situation.

Can@yesprs - (from the 2013 Great American Beer festival - thanks to Dennis) - fuzzy orange pour with white puffy head. Sweet malty and tropical fruity with some grapefruit and peach, some tangerine, sweet malty support, light vague hoppy into the finish.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a large white head. Aroma is plenty of fruity yeasty esters with some neutral malt. Flavor is again big on yeasty fruit esters but not much else. Finish leaves some citrus tartness on the tongue. Kind of a play if safe saison with some yeast ester and not much else.

12oz can. Sort of a classical US brewpub IPA, a touch antiquated but still reasonably enjoyable. Deep, resinous NW hop tone. Unfiltered orange-brown-tan body. Not that impressive, but drinkable enough.

12 oz. can. Pours a pale golden hue with a very small white head. Aroma of grains, honey, mild fruitiness. Taste follows nose with some melon notes. Faint cooked vegetables in the finish. OK summer beer.
