Bottle at home from end of brew of the month club I was given. Pours jet black with no head and sweet chocolate nose. Tastes of milk chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, cola, soy sauce, hints of herbs, and smoke. Quite pleasant, creamy mouthfeel, and nice finish

Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall thick brown head and some nice cola coloured glows near the bottom. Aroma of lactic notes, roasted malt, oatmeal, caramel and a hint of peat - nice. Medium-bodied; Nice full flavour of roasted malt, anise, coffee, chocolate and the pungent lactic notes at the tail end. Aftertaste shows some sweetness from caramelised sugars, a bit of alcohol warmth and a good complex earthy finish. Overall, a nice sweet, lactic sugar based stout with exactly what you’d want to taste from the style. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 07-November-2012 for US$8.99/6pack, sampled at home in Washington on 24-November-2012.

On draft at ketch 55 in avon nc. Pours almost black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Some sweet molasses and smoky notes. Soft mellow finish. A fine brew.

12 oz. bottle, sent from cory_king (thanks Cory), pours jet black with ay small tan head. Aroma is fairly subdued for an imp, with tar, charcoal, some roast, and bitter chocolate. Flavour is full of tar, coal, medium roasted malt, a touch of coffee, some bittersweet dark chocolate, and I can't help but get some reminiscence of Islay whiskey, though I know this is non-BA. Very sludgy, coal-like body, without too much sweetness. Very standard, but well-executed by-the-books imperial stout, with a tad bit too much of that Islay character to make this more enjoyable to me. Solid stuff.

12 ounce bottle. Nearly opague brown, black color topped by a fluffy beige head. Espresso-like roasted malt aroma with hints of yeast. Flavor of dark roasted malt and cocoa. Like most Duck-Rabbit brews, this has the lacose tanginess I have come to expect. Less sweet than the German breweries versions I have experienced. Very malty with little hop prescence. Some dark, dried fruit and brown bread, too.

Bottle from bottle-shop.co.uk. Dark chestnut color with thick light brown color. Roasted malt, coffee, syrup in aroma. Roasted malt, milk chocolate, coffee in taste. Nice roasty bitter finish. Good.

Dense black pour that throws up an equally dense, long lasting, tan head. Dark roasted malt aroma with some pine. Almost smoky. The flavor is as bitter as the bitterest stouts from the roast malt. I don’t care for roast malt bitterness to this degree, but if that’s your thing; you’ll probably love this one.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with small beige head leaving spotty lacing spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a bready malt, toast and raisin. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet roast and chocolate with caramel. Alcohol well hidden, a very impressive doppelbock from Duck-Rabbit.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a shaker. Pours opaque black with dark brown translucent hightlights. Some lacing, medium body, medium carbonation, and roasted malt aroma. Taste is roasted malt, some chocolate, and hop finish.
