12 oz “fresh bottle”. Black color with beige head. Nose is a pleasant mix of chocolate and roasted nuts. Flavor has roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and mild hop bitterness. Body is Light side of medium with just the right amount of carbonation to give it a lively jump on the tongue. This tastes just as good as some of the better German brews from this style. If you like this style, you really should enjoy this. I would spend more of my money to drink this again.

12 oz. bottle was 10 days past best buy date. With that being said, I could pickup an off sour note with a metallic finish. I understand that any brew that’s under 6 % should be consumed fresh. What I don’t understand is how could it diminish so quickly just 10 days past best buy date? It also had hints of soy sauce. It must be a totally different brew on draft because in the bottle it is a sorry excuse for a milk stout. Even if I see this on draft, not sure I would order it. And after being told this was good, I’m real confused??

Black, off white bubbly head that dissipated quickly to rim around glass, bit of lacing
Aroma - roasted malts, dark malts, chocolate, rich dark malts, bit of sweetness
Taste as aroma, some light earthy malts, soft roast, molasses
Palate - medum carb, thin to medium body. Finish as main flavour
Overall - Quite a decent porter, fairly mellow. I just wasn’t all that excited by it .

12oz bottle from The Foodery, Center City, Philadelphia. A clear reddish copper colour with a fast fading cream head; rich aromas of caramel and malts; creamy texture with lots of malt and caramel, without being too sweet; there’s some shortlived bitterness too, and some warmth to the finish.

355ml Botttle - Copper with a small head. Malty and fruity aroma with notes of spicy malt, dried fruit and caramel. Malty, fruity and fairly sweet taste with raisins, spicy malt, nuts and caramel.

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, cola-brown with a frothy, beige foam head. Gorgeous nose of baking cocoa, dirt, some earthy leaves, subtle roast, milk chocolate. Tastes great, light to medium sweet, some ash, chocolate, soft roasted malts, background cherries with just a hint of tang. Light to medium bodied with high, massaging carbonation. Very mild dryness to finish, some ashy roast, mellow cocoa, touches of burnt wood and earth. Good balance. Very mellow overall, though certainly not lacking in nuance. One of the best schwarzbiers I’ve ever had.

12 ounce bottle. Hazy reddish brown color topped by a smal bubbly beige head. Sweet fruity malt, yeasty sourdough nose. Tart bittersweet grapefruit flavor. Complex fruit and spicy hops in mid-taste. Very characteristic tangy/sour notes you’d expect from Duck-Rabbit. Sticky mouthfeel with very light cabonation. Finishes bitter and long.

On tap at lost dog cafe in McLean Virginia. Very dark with a long lasting tan head. Citrus with a strong roasted malt backbone. Mild but lasting hoppy aftertaste.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with a small beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is raisin malt and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a strong caramel and sweet chocolate with nice sweet finish. Easy to drink a very impressive Scotch ale from The Duck-Rabbit.
