Dark brown color. Quick dissipating off white head. As soon as the beer is poured out of the bottle it show massive massive sweet lactic roasted malt character. The milk stout is evident even before it hits my glass. The nose shows more bourbon notes with some dark chocolate, but still dominated by the milk stout. Big malty backbone, sweet, bourbon notes. Lots of dark chocolate. excellent.

Firkin Fest 2014. I liked this but not as much as Jeff did. There is a lot goimg on. Berry is prominent. There is heat from the alcohol but the bourbon is light. Heavy palate, anda good imperial stout.

Firkin Fest 2014. Served with frozen whipped cream. Lots of chpcolate flavor but not as sweet as chocolate stouts often are. Rich and full palate. Good. One of the highlights of the festival.

Cask at Firkin Fest. I didn’t enjoy this as much as Jeff. On the thin and watery side, some lemon and citrus, and a light herbal quality.

From a 12 oz bottle shared in Bozeman MT. Pours a hazy copper with a thick off white head. Floral hop nose. Flavors of citrus and some subdued grassy notes. Biter finish.

Tap at Lift Bridge. Orange-tan body. Soapy white head. Some buttery, grainy straw notes, but true to style. Not quite as zesty or bitter as I’d like, but still has a decent boho feel to it. Light to medium bodied. Kind of funky, in a dirty way. OK, ticker’s tick.

Tap at LiftBridge. Brown-black body, amber edges. Not much head to speak of. Boozy brown chocolate aroma. Kind of watery, straightforward boozy Imperial Stout. Not much depth. Chocolate, caramel, toffee. Not much hops or carbonation to even it out. Kind of hot, a little intense. Not unlike an Imperial Brown at times. Smooth creamy malt tones, not so big on the chocolate or roast.......2017 bottle opened in 2019 is drinking quite nice. A classic Imperial Stout is a lot more enjoyable now, in the sea of trashy Pastry Stout. Thick, heavy malts. big chocolate tone, oily. Solid beer, seems thicker and more complex than the beer I rated years ago.
