Description
Deca Brewery brews delicious gems such as Vleteren 8 & 12, Antiek 8 and Antiek 12.
It is also a liquor store and guides brewers with advice and logistical assistance in brewing their beer.
The Decaestecker Brewery, or Deca for short, was founded around 1880-1890 and destroyed during WO. I. The brewer not only made beer, but also lemonade.
The house is an eclectic wide house. The brewery was and is in the factory buildings behind it.
The brewery became after WWI. rebuilt partly with recycled material. In addition to the traditional cooling machine from around 1920 and the stirring tank from around 1850, the company has been completely modernized.
In 1980 he Jo Christiaens took over the former Decaestecker brewery in Woesten. Together with his son Nicolas, he turned the Deca brewery into a profitable brewery.

bottle, pours light brown/red with a thin off white head. Aroma is brown sugar with a little spice. Light bodied with some sweet malt and a carmel and brown sugar ending. Sweet and fairly strong, but you canβt tell.

Bottled (from lahoublonniere.be). Hazy goldenbrownish colour with huge white fluffy white head. Aroma is sweet malts, yeast, spices, alcohol and some fruityness as well. Flavour is spices, fruits, dry dark fruits, some sweet malts, licorice and also some burnt wooden notes in the finish. Quite interesting brew, which worked well.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts strong and sweet, modest spicy, a little bit alcoholic. Well balanced, warming finish. Good one!

Slight gushing to good, dense and fine head over orangeish-golden beer, very heavily carbonated. White candi sugar, sweet pale malts and a light lactic/milky acidity, yoghurt-like, in the nose. Bitterish taste over underlying sweetness. Bitterness is short, chicory-like but very mellow. Lactic impression very much present in the flavour, but just short of sourish. Again signs of white candi sugar (I know, I know). Medium bodied, quite slick and nearly viscous, despite the high, near fizzy carbonation. Anything but bad, if not really great. Leaning towards Flemish "sour" without getting there - despite the (near) gushing.

Bottled. A murky orange-brown beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel and yeast. The flavor is sweet with notes of dusty hops and yeast, leading to a dry finish. Somewhat boring.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a fully diminished white head. Aroma si slight oxidised and a mix of caramel and yeast. Flavour too holds a clear sign of aging. Yet with caramel and yeast notes. Ends slight metallic.
