Description
Metalman Brewing was born in 2011 when two beer enthusiasts decided they’d had enough of the outlandishly limited selection of beer available in Ireland, and decided to do something about it.
They started by contract brewing at a small brewery in Tipperary while building a brewery in Waterford city with a 6.5HL brewhouse. Draught Metalman started popping up in all sorts of places, and various brewery upgrades followed. At the end of 2014, they installed the first canning line at an Irish microbrewery, and cans of Metalman Pale Ale hit the shelves in January 2015. A brewhouse upgrade to 24HL followed later that year, as did various seasonal and limited edition releases.
Making beer is bloody hard work, but dammit it’s a lot of fun!

Can from O’Brien’s, Athlone [200915]
Very dark brown. big frothy tan head
Aroma - Light smoked, hint of chilli, some dark malts, vegetal
Taste of dark malts, soft vegetal notes, mellow roast, soft chilli, soft heat - not too hot
Palate - Soft carb, medium body. Finish - soft chilli heat linger.
Overall - Nice beer, a bit vegetal but I usually get that note from chiili beers anyway

Can at Johnny Off L. in Rome-Italy, courtesy of John. Thank you. Pours golden hazy color, white creamy cap. Nose: signs of diacetyl, butter, some grainy notes. Mouth: butter, grainy, bitter grassy. This batch not terrific but I can see the good will. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Many thanks to Beersiveknown for this can. Great fresh floral nose with hints of malt. The beer starts fresh floral with hints of grain. Smooth, pine, fresh green hops. Mild smooth body, round and nice grainy bitter in the aftertaste. Nice brew!

Can sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Tom L. Golden with a white head. Awful aroma of butter and creamed corn. Sweetish flavor with diacetyl, corn, and a drier unpleasant bitterish finish. Diacetyl mouthfeel. Awful.
