Bottle. A dark brown to black beer topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. The aroma is quite grassy, with licorice and some coffee. Grapefruit peel. Soft and smooth on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level. Roasted malts, licorice and coffee in the flavor. A nice bitterness too. Bitter, roasted finish with licorice. Well, not my favorite porter, but it’s sort of pleasant anyway, although there’s too much licorice going on. 140228
