Draft at Barley’s Knoxville. Deep gold with an average white head. Predominant hop aroma of citrus and pine. The flavor is mildly bitter following the aroma with some malt base coming in for balance. Decent IPA.

Shared by dcachur at the Grand Tasting, RBSG. Thanks for a beer I long wanted to try. Wish I had kept the label! Huge chocolate aroma, light on coffee, a little café au lait but very chocolaty. Creamy, sweet, with a nice bitter bite at the end. Chocolate lovingly rules the day. Luscious.

Bottle with many thanks to decaturstevo. Wow! This one rivals for the best beer I’ve had. Definitely in the top 3! Pours thick black with tan head. Good lacing. Nose is cocoa nibs, chocolate, bourbon, espresso, coffee, toffee and lots of other goodness. Taste is similar flavors. The cocoa nibs really shine. A tad sticky, but that doesn’t distract from this overall masterpiece. 4.9 Rerated: 3.9

Courtesy of suzygreenburg. Pours deep darkness with mahogany edges and tan head. It has a full rich aroma with chocolate, caramel covered wood, bourbon and mild alcohol heat. The taste is yummy richness with dark to burnt malts, notes of chocolate, sweet bourbon and sweet notes of honey. Yum, rich, roasty, burnt, chocolate and what more do you want? Nice stuff.

bottle pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma is oak and vanilla. Flavor is sweet chocolate and bourbon with lots of creamy vanilla and a bourbon heat in the finish.

The bottle looks great, as well as the beer in the glass. Deep black, small head. Starts malty, strong, quite dry. More and more chocolate and cacao notes appear, but not too intense. Finish a bit milder, not as dry as the beginning. Quite drinkable for an Imperial Stout. Really good!

Bottle 53 of 694 A BIG thanks to JohnGalt1. Pours out a black topped with a small tan head. Aroma was out of this world sweet milk chocolate, vanilla, light oak and bourbon and still plenty of roast. Taste was as the aroma very nice and smooth. Much better than I had ever dreamed.

22oz bottle pours a viscous, opaque black with a creamy, brown head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, brown sugar, toasted malts. Flavor is sweet, brown sugar, chocolate, roasted malts. The barrel comes through in the flavor with butterscotch. Finish is a little hot. Could age 9-12 months before it really smooths out.

Bottle courtesy of tarheels86, thank you sir. Black, dark brown head, some very light lacing. Aroma of bitter cocoa. Taste has cocoa, and a sweet, smooth edge. No apparent oak. Kind of plain, but not bad.

Bottle at home ... Its always a pleasure to find your self drinking a relatively highly scoring US beer with less than 100 ratings and no hype ... so already the anticipation on opening is there ... black thin tan head ... soft bitter roast ... lots of chocolate ... bourbon coconut showing through ... big roast ... lots of chocolate ... on first showing the bourbon hasnt kicked me so that good ... definite solid roast ... bourbon is slipping in but not overpowering ... but definitely in linger...oh yeah reading description ... i can see the honey... in fact i think thats whats balancing the bourbon ... still a little more bourbon than id like in linger... but ive gone of bourbon beers of late ...still this is a beer im glad to have had... wow the coco nibs really open up as this breaths ... or maybe from the sediment
