Standard run of the mill golden ale. Pale malts, pale cereals, next to no hops..... Slightly grassy. It’s not great but nowhere near as bad as the ratings would suggest.

Deep copper and bronze coloured body with a very nice, three centimetre tall tan head - very nice looking throughout. Aroma of malt, caramel, grain with a big herbal presence, some lighter german hops and a bit more caramel scents. Medium-bodied; Strong rich malty flavours dominate with a big grass presence, some subdued bitterness and a touch of sweetness at the end - but fairly minimal in flavours. Aftertaste shows a little complexity from the malt, but not much else from the hops or sweetness - pretty bland at the end. Overall, a pretty ho-hum beer with not much to it, and not a traditional IPA, but more of a Canadian-styled IPA which means a lot less hops and more focus on malt. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Marche des Saveurs du Quebec in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on 14-February-2016 for CA$4,49 sampled at home in Washington south of the border on 03-May-2016.

Bottle: Poured a pale golden color lager with a large pure white foamy head with light retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of grainy cereal notes with some unrefined notes. Taste is somewhat harsh with unrefined grainy cereal notes. Body is light with medium carbonation. Quite messy beer at the end of the day which makes me long for macros.
