nice attempt at a wit. i think its on par with denison’s and blanche de chambly in Ontario. very nice aroma of citrus, and corriander, nice balance between the sweet, tart, ad bitter

next to no head, tiny bit of carbonation, aroma of sweet malt and caramel. flavour of caramel, and malt, with a nice bitterness in the finish, really nice stuff.

big nitro head, jet black. kinda thin though in the mouthfeel department considering the look of it. but big notes of smoke, chocolate, and coffee. very nice.

great hoppy aroma, lots of citrus, and apricot. Flavour is extremely well balanced between the citrus of the hops, and the very nice malty backbone. Superb session beer, very flavourful, i’m so happy i can get this on a regular basis.

Re rate: 2012.
I don’t do this often but i feel i have to re rate this beer cause my oroinal rting of 4.1 is not even close anymore. This beer has changed quite a bit over the years, and im assuming with the mass expantion of the brewery they have ut back on the quality of ingredients. This beer used to be loaded with hops, bright citrus and apricot aromas. Now its very vey earthy, solid malts, but zero hops. ZERO! This beer needs to be put in the amber category.

This stout poured a deep black colour with a creamy, tan coloured head. Nice lacing. Scents include smoke, ash, coffee and light cocoa. First swig was deliciously creamy with tastes of burnt toast, coffee, molasses and cocoa. With that burnt coffee flavour lingering.

Clean, amber colour with a frothy white cap, average stay and some decent lacing. Fruity malts with caramel notes and some hints of grassy hops. The mouthfeel is wet, but not too thick with a tad dryness. Again, fruity-caramel malts in the flavours with some light hoppiness. A decent Festbier with fruitiness and other sweetness in the malt area.

(Tap) Great looking beer - black with dense off-white head. Subtle aroma of roast malt. Good mouthfeel - smooth medium body with soft carbonation. Good taste of dark roast grain with hints of chocolate and some gentle burnt sugar bitterness in the finish. Very pleasant.
