Clear bottle that pours a copper colour with a fizzy-bubbly head that dissipates very quickly. Spicy, root beer smell with some vanilla, caramel in the background, that comes out eventually. The taste is not as spicy as I wish, with some of the alcohol showing. It is sweet, but thankfully not syrupy, so goes down all-right. Just not my favourite alcohol root beer.

Can from the Essentials 6-pack for fall-winter 2020 that pours a hazy caramel-pinkish colour with an off-white frothy cap, good stay and foamy lacing. Mild orange-cranberry aromas with hints of wheat-bananas. The taste shows more of the cranberry sourness, over the orange notes and yeasty finish. Light tart on the tongue. Refreshing, fruity, sour and easy-drinking.

This ale poured a hazy, medium yellow colour with a creamy, white head. Nice lacing. Scents include a little corn, yeast, minimal spice and a dash of perm solution. First swig was quite carbonated. Flavours of ripe fruit, malt and light grass. Finish is hoppy with a sweeter flavour lingering.

Can that pours a lightly hazed, light-yellow colour with a creamy white froth, decent retention and some nice dirty lacing. Big spicy ginger nose at first with the pineapple sweetness coming out eventually. The taste has these two in union, but not as punchy. They do work very well together. Fruity, a little sweet but with the spicy kick of the ginger in the finish. A nice fruity-spicy brew.

Had this one at the Ottawa brewpub April 1, 2019. Cola-looking brew with a creamish beige head and wavy lacing. Roasted malt nose with the rye adding some fruity notes, with chocolate hints. The taste shows nice fruitiness with a blend of roastiness, chocolate and mild dry finish. More of the roasted, chocolate malts and hops, the the rye, but a nice different beer.

Had this one at the Ottawa brewery April 1, 2019. Pours a very slight hazed amber colour with an off-white head and some good stay. Fruity malt aromas with some caramel. Fruity malts again in the taste with more of the hops over the caramel. A nice light dry finish. More of a red ale than the Pale Ale it is advertised as. The hoppy finish is what puts it close to an APA. Decent brew.

Enjoyed at the Ottawa brewery, April 1, 2019. Clean, deep amber colour with a small light-beige cap and some ring around the brew. Fruity nose from the malt with light smokiness and caramel. The taste shows more of the fruits with some berry notes and hints of the smoked wood. A well-blended fruity red ale with mild smoke. Kind of gives a maple bush lingering feel.

500ml bottle from the Ottawa brewpub. Pours a slight hazed amber colour with a golden hue. The head is lightly warm off-white, creamy, frothy, with great retention, leaving some creamy lacing. Caramel malt nose with some cereal notes. The taste is very cereal-like with again, the mild caramel in the back ground. The wheat in this one give hints of bananas. Kind of feels like a cream ale, but an APA with a touch of caramel and some cereal grains. Not super hoppy, but fine. Light grassy, light dry finish.

500ml bottle that pours a hazy golden-amber colour with a frothy light-beige head, very good retention and thick foamy lacing. Mild hop nose with grassiness and lighter orange notes. This fruit continues into the taste, with the hops taking a step back, and going to the background. Some malty cereal grains linger on the tongue. Nothing too crazy, but an older school APA with the hops being lighter, but with a new school touch and being hazy, juicy.
